Anyway, what a great hattrick, two fantastic finishes straight out the top drawer and then that third, he didn't even look, just pure instinct.

I'm not just saying this because i love the wee man, but that was one of the best hat-tricks i've ever seen.

Hasselbaink's hat-trick against Spurs (I think) a few years back was pretty special.

And let's not forget our beanpole ex striker Peter Crouch's supposedly perfect hat-trick against Arsenal. Left, right, head. It was fantastic. Remember great build up from Pennant and Finnan I think.

So it is down to science versus arts/humanities?

No it is about how to predict the quality of a footballer. A limited set of statistics will fail to account for full complexity of a phenomenon like a football match, meaning Rosco arrives at a stupid conclusion. On the other hand everyone else has a brain which is able to capture and process far more information about a player, and so come to the correct conclusion.

Suarez was aided by a pathetic Norwich defense. Fowler scored his goals against one of the best back fours and goalkeeper there's been.

What has that got to do with technique and finishing? Nothing, now sit down.

Nothing. Still you are only taking into account two isolated parameters - speed and technique, and what have those got to do with being the best? You could just as easily pull out another 50 such parameters from your arse, or 5000 if it's Rosco's arse. The quality of the opposition is more important to the question than any 1 of 500 different factors.

You'd give a fucking aspirin a headache mate.

I think that was probably the second best hat trick ive ever seen. Rivaldos was the best, not just because of the three strikes themselves but because of the whole scenario around it.
In case you dont know, its last day of the season Valencia v Barcelona, Barca have to win to get into the champions league 1-0 (Rivaldo) great free kick 1-1, 2-1 (Rivaldo great strike) 2-2 in injury time Rivaldo produces a bicycle kick from the edge of the 18 to win the game 3-2 and secure champions league football.
Theres prob a youtubia available but im at work.
I watched it live and it was phenomenal.
Suarez three strikes were probably a better as a three but taking into account the relative import of the games Rivaldo shades it for me.

Ps-I agree Suarez has cleaned up his act on the diving a whole shit load since the ban. Coincidentally its resulted in his best scoring run.
Maybe thats been a message from Kenny, cut out the hystryonics and just go and score. On days like yesterday he is without compare, i think we ALL can hope there are a lot more of those to come for us should he stay.

The minute Andy said Rivaldo hatrick I knew what one he was taking about. Immense.

Bergkamp one above is pretty fucking excellent too btw.

pff the right answer is of course Peter Crouch V arseanl .

The 1st is a great team goal , the second a bullet header and the third is silky magic !!

It's just a pity the video is so bright you can hardly see it !

On a side note how much better were we back then ! sigh .

I'd like to see more of a prolific Suarez where he is banging in the goals. His performances dropped off this season. It may have just been a mental thing and a lack of confidence from not scoring and hitting the bar so much.

Looking at his goalscoring record at Ajax, he can be much more prolific that he's been for us. Thats exactly what we need.

His finishing dropped off. His overall performances didn't. There is a difference.

As for the reason, I suspect it has more to do with having to be goalscorer-in-chief as well as provider-in-chief, which wasn't the original plan. Whatever else anyone says about El Pistolero, confidence is one thing I don't think he's ever lacked.

Yes but he's not an out and out striker is he. He shouldn't be playing up top on his own. He should play a Dalglish type role and with a world class striker ahead of him. I think he's done fucking marvelous given the role he's been asked to play and the fact he's partnered by Carroll one week then not the next.

That Dalglish fella was shit when compared to Rushie's goal return. Don't know why we persevered with him and adore him....
