WWIII Return of the Ruskie

No, I think those 18 who ran away were part of a smaller group that were sent to the front line in the Kursk oblast. They might be trying to make it to Poland or Ukraine.
Ah, ok. That makes sense.

Gotta feel sorry for them, not only have they grown up in North Korea but then they get sent thousands of miles away to fight in Putin's war.

Saw something in an article somewhere saying these aren't front-line troops and it would be difficult to use them as such. Their main function is likely to be doing various backup jobs, allowing the Russians to send more of their own to the front. Still not good news.

The Russians love a bit of election interference.

Moldova voted for EU by the narrowest of margins (around 13,000 votes) - Russia’s multimillion voter bribery and intimidation campaign ultimately came up short. That’s good.

It’s not completely over yet, however, as the pro-European President Maia Sandu still needs to win the run-off against a pro-Russian candidate in a few weeks. Only then the referndum result will be meaningful and Moldova will finally be on the path to EU membership.

Next one is Georgia in a few days - their hotly contested parliamentary election will literally decide that country’s future.

It would be interesting to find out what percentage of North Koreans believe all the bullshit and what percentage are just terrified for their lives.

Do a poll on here and I'm sure we'll get a fair sample from all the thousands of N Korean fans that visit this place.

I can't wait for the battery and solar panel tech to get so advanced so that these things can stay in the air indefinitely. Couple that with AI and there's no way anything could go wrong.

Any thoughts on what they might call it?

Pro-European and pro-Ukrainian Maia Sandu wins the Presidency in Moldova, despite Russia throwing the kitchen sink to try to buy and steal that election. Serious setback for Putin and an important win for Ukraine – now we will have an ally on the Southwestern border rather than another Russia client state who could have been used to open a 2nd front.

Teflon Don's proposal for peace is apparently set the borders as they are today.

Then European NATO countries impose a 800 mile "buffer zone". (I guess Don doesn't realise how far that is.. but ho hum).

Oh and Ukraine are barred from NATO for 20 years.

Fuck me. I don't have the answer. But that's not it.

What has changed that means Biden now allows Ukraine to fire into Russia? but didn't for the past 2 years.

Trump will have to deal with the aftermath? If Harris had won I don't think he would have let it happen.

It is a very deadly way to create a problem for Trump to deal with. This is why Biden was never going to be a good candidate - he is senile.

There's more to it than that IMO. Biden and many others are concerned that Trump's going to pull the rug out from under Ukraine, so he wants to strengthen Ukraine's position in advance of such a possibility.

Or.. the money trail.

A long drawn out war under democrats = money in contracts for arms companies

Ukraine use their stockpiled arsenal now before the republicans block them = money in contracts for arms companies

The US economy is partially propped up by such contracts.

What I want to know is why is that Kerch bridge still standing. I'd have put the phone down and blown the thing up in the next five mins.

From what I've read is they've tried with them already. Because they view crimea as Ukraine.

But they were intercepted.
