WWIII Return of the Ruskie

I don't think your woman taking one out with a jar of pickles can be topped.

Sadly that legendary feat wasn’t captured on video.

And now for something much more serious:

Probably the first documented use of drone swarms to attack a military base. It’s fascinating how within just one calendar year, this war transitioned from WWI-like phase (trench warfare and artillery grind during the slow and painful Russian winter offensive) to the cutting edge of warfare now.

Russian TV found who killed Prigozhin - it was the dastardly Brits, of course! Later in this segment they also say “god forbid those cynical foreign bastards get our brave general Surovikin next,” which makes me think he’s already probably dead and the point of the whole exercise is to prepare the public opinion for the revelation.

Tonight there was a massive Ukrainian drone attack on Russian military airfields in 4-5 cities: Pskov, Bryansk, Tula and Moscow. Swarms of kamikaze drones leading to explosions and damage to multiple aircraft and airport infrastructure. Things are getting serious.

[article]OPERATOR - Hello, Main Directorate of the Emergency Situations Ministry for the Pskov Region
UA - Hello! There are some explosions happening in the city. What are these explosions?
OPERATOR - There's a plane on fire at the Kresty airport.
UA - Is it just one plane, or multiple?
OPERATOR - One
UA- Ok, we’ll make sure to hit some more. Thank you for confirming, I appreciate it! Glory to Ukraine!
[/article]
Unbelievable trolling - Ukrainians called Russian emergency services in the middle the drone attack on the Pskov airport, asked to confirm how many planes have been hit and politely thanked them for providing the information that will help them to target more.

How are things looking in terms of Ukranian casualties?

Do they have the man power to keep going like this indefinitely?

Well, Ukraine certainly has no interest in continuing the war “indefinitely” - quite the opposite. In the long run Russia can mobilize more conscripts from the far-flung regions of their empire, but at this moment Ukraine has more trained and battle-ready soldiers particularly since Russians stupidly burned through their best troops in the early months of the invasion. The motivation is also a big factor in Ukraine’s favour.

For sure our casualties are extremely painful, which is why the General Staff opted to conduct the counter-offensive at a more deliberate pace, clearing field by field and trench by trench in small groups of infantry (that is not likely be attacked by aviation or rocket artillery unlike large groupings or armored vehicles). Ukraine has the advantage in this kind of warfare and after 2 months of clearing the minefields we just broke through the Russian main line of defence in the South. It will not be easy, but in a few months we should be able to sever the land corridor to Crimea, which is a key strategic objective. After this Crimea will become un-defendable for the Russians and the probability that Putin’s regime will succumb to some inner turmoil will increase dramatically.

Speaking of inner turmoil, this is an extremely stupid (not to mention cruel and deceitful) move by the Russian government. Will definitely backfire in some way.

There were reports here that some Wagner fighters had begun to threaten Putin and the regime when Prigozhin's plane went down. It wasn't clear at that stage whether this had widespread support among Wagner's ranks generally, but what you've quoted above must surely risk lighting the blue touchpaper.

Seems to me that if you don't look after veterans returning from the front line and don't give them any options, you're potentially creating tens of thousands of gangsters.

So last night Ukraine destroyed a Russian submarine and another large military ship that were undergoing repairs in a dry dock in Sevastopol. This is a pretty big deal, but even more interesting was this:

It looks like Musk once again tried to turn off Starlink in order to thwart the attack (he did it once before, which resulted in Ukrainian drones losing satellite connection and harmlessly washing ashore a few months ago). A top Ukrainian official specifically blamed Musk for this and said this resulted many civilian casualties that could have been avoided:

In this case this didn’t seem to hinder the attack because it mostly consisted of Ukrainian-made missiles and a only a couple drones. But the US Congress is already investigating Musk over the earlier incident and it would be absolutely idiotic of him to do this again while under scrutiny - but here we are.

An invitation to parliament for a Ukrainian man who fought for a Nazi unit in World War Two is "deeply embarrassing" to Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says.

Yaroslav Hunka, 98, got a standing ovation after House of Commons Speaker Anthony Rota called him a "hero" during a Friday visit by Ukraine's president.

Mr Rota has said he did not know of Mr Hunka's Nazi ties and made a mistake in inviting him to attend the event.

This is either the greatest own goal ever or a well planned Russian plot to back their
"We're once again getting rid of Nazis" claims

I can imagine someone said that they have a guest, he fought the Russians for the Ukrainians! But didn't stop to question in what war he fought in when they seen how old he was,

Russia has a looming demographic catastrophe. One panelist aptly put it quite succintly “We currently can’t solve the birth rate problem and most likely, we will not solve it. You can’t reverse ground meat back through the grinder.”

KLITSCHKO Accuses ZELENSKY of ENDING Democracy in UKRAINE

A clearly angry Vitali Klitschko remarked to the media because of Vladimir Zelensky, there are practically no independent institutions of power left in Ukraine. He also expressed the opinion that the country is moving toward a dictatorship, in which everything depends on the mood of one person. This is not a good sign for Zelensky.

I have a bad feeling about this...
Nah he'll turn up again.. in Siberia.. fighting a demogorgan* in a few weeks time once they've got him there.

*stranger things reference just in case.

Whether comes out alive or not when he resurfaces..

Odds are probably
2/1 died of a heart attack
5/1 drunk the tea
20/1 fell out of an open window.
