WWIII Return of the Ruskie

You can't be accused of abandoning someone when you stand in solidarity with them.

I'll remember this in my divorce hearing.

"I did not abandon my wife your honour, look at this photo of me projecting her favourite colours on my new house many miles away from the women's refuge she now lives in"

To be fair, after biden stood in solidarity with the uyghurs, the afghanis, and the palestinians, he really left himself no choice but to stand in solidarity with the ukrainians too. Otherwise people might wrongly attribute the slightest hint of a different stance to their skin color, and accuse biden of being a racist against darker skinned people. The damage it would do to human rights across the world if the president came across as racist doesn't bear thinking about. He's doing the right thing by standing in solidarity with all races equally.

@rurikbird just sent me a pic of his uncle heading off to war. This dude looked after me and my mates when we went to Kiev a few years ago for the final. I know it's reductive to base your emotional response to global events on how well you know a place or person but that's hit me. He's ex navy and hard as nails but it's horrible. His missus is ace too. Total respect for Andriy the dude.

You'll have less property right to that new house than a russian oligarch. But on the bright side, I and I'm sure everyone else on this forum will stand in solidarity with you when you move into a bed and breakfast.

This geezer is threatening to crash the ISS into the states or Europe...

I'm going with my son to watch Greece V Turkey in a basketball match today. It'll probably be the last time to do something like this before the ISS falls on our house.

Those backward N's again!!

I doesn't translate on my browser.
He goes on a rant about how the Russians make their own reliable rockets and all the electronics on them then says:
"If you block cooperation with us, who will save the ISS from an uncontrolled deorbit and fall into the United States or Europe? There is also the option of dropping a 500-ton structure to India and China. Do you want to threaten them with such a prospect? The ISS does not fly over Russia, so all the risks are yours. Are you ready for them?"

Then continues with his rant.

Had Clinton not succeeded in convincing ($$$) the Ukrainians to part with their nukes, would this be happening?
I'm paraphrasing ... "Your decision to give up your nukes makes Ukraine, the US, the world safer. Ukraine needs to know the US and West will stand with them"
I think that should be the message every country that 'relies' on the West needs to take.

Russia were in on that deal too, weren't they? They had agreed to guarantee Ukraine's security.

I for one am sending my thoughts and prayers to the west, and my money in the opposite direction but don't worry about that, all my thoughts and prayers are with the west... "Generally, Government debt as a percent of GDP is used by investors to measure a country ability to make future payments on its debt, thus affecting the country borrowing costs and government bond yields."

I honestly don't know ... but if they were ha ha it just says enough about 'allies' when the big bear or the giant eagle or the huge ____ (pick a name for China) comes a calling for "their" land

Will be kicked out of the Eurovision song contest now. Punish them were it really hurts..

Greece vs Turkey in basketball? OK, NOW it's going to be WWIII.
That's what I was thinking, tensions have also been quite high the past few years.

There's a chance the atmosphere will bring out the inner hooligan in my son.

Where is he?

Not in the Ukraine hopefully.

Russian sources are saying it's Chechenians who will be the key ground forces in the 'freeing' Kiev.
It's going to get fucking brutal if they're fighting ...
