WWIII Return of the Ruskie

Ukraine and Taiwan being on the brink of their doom, that doesn't strike you as unbelievable and surreal to see? At what point did this just become part and parcel of running a country? January 2021 perhaps.

Or quiet before the storm

Honestly I'm not sure the war threat is as real as made out.

But I'm basing this entirely on the fact that my sister in law resigned from CNN because she refused to begin making the case for war just because certain politicians want to make it seem like it's necessary.

This just means they've realised they don't need as many troops as they thought.
100,000 troops to take a country the size of Ukraine? Nah. Unless they just want a bit more than what they've already got.

Politicians from Ukraine have said the west narrative is OTT and hyping up the situation. Plus 100k troops?
there are probably 100k US troops in Europe.. doesn't seem like a lot

The whole thing could be a dick swinging session for Putin.

and convenient for the western nations to all point at the big bogeyman.
though of course his aggression and ultimatums are not helpful either and they did annex Crimea not long ago and are constantly messing about with the underwater cables etc

It's the usual morons who've all been in Putin's pocket for decades who spout all this crap about it not being his fault. Could the West and NATO have dealt with things a lot better over the past couple of decades? Of course they fucking could - but any comparison to what Putin is and has been up to in the same period is a disingenuous false equivalence.

Can’t we just give Ukraine a handful of nukes then we can all go back to arguing about vaccines?

should never have given them up in the first place

False flag attack earlier apparently. Russia shelled a nursery, but claiming it was Ukraine.

Lucky no kids were hurt.

I’d wouldn’t be getting on any Malaysian Air flights from Kuala Lumpur to Western Europe any time soon.

Oh, I don't have to read a book to know that. That we are fucked as a species is old news.
This book highlights the political and social ramifications of climate change as well as other issues. Terrifying.

It's well worth a read.

Did they actually claim so? Stanitsa Luhanska is on the Ukrainian side, no one would believe Ukraine randomly chose to shell their own village.

In fact there was shelling from the Russian side on the whole perimeter of Donbas front line today and jusging from the reports it’s continuing. Not the volume and intensity you would expect for an invasion, just a way to express their displeasure I guess…
