On one hand, he's our skipper and has played well in patches, albeit mostly some time ago now.

Selling hendo because he has been average this season is silly IMO. He's been one of our standout performers but has been in poor form since his injury. Chances are its because he's playing through the pain barrier and will be back to his normal self next season. I'm not saying he should play every week but he would be a good squad player. There are quite a few players we should get rid of before we even think about hendo. Plus it should be at least £30m otherwise we are selling him on the cheap. I'd look at getting rid of milner before thinking about hendo.
Well in the past we've sold nearly every player that's ever played for us. So in five years when he's lifted the title as captain and a few other trophies Spurs are welcome to him. Hopefully they won't have dropped into the championship for his sake by then.

But if we sell and replace with similar quality then what's the point. For that money I'd sell, but if the price isn't right and he wants to stay and be part of a better squad then I'd keep him.

Klopp’s surprise position comes amid reported interest from Tottenham in his midfielder. It is thought Klopp, with ambitions of recruiting a top controlling player to partner Emre Can in Liverpool’s central midfield, would release Henderson if the deal was right and it helped raise funds for transfers.
Klopp is interested in Ilkay Gundogan, his former star at Borussia Dortmund, but is well aware that Manchester City and their incoming manager, Pep Guardiola, are also keen on the player and it would be impossible to compete with the kind of financial package City could offer. If not Gundogan, Klopp would like a player of similar class. Henderson — Liverpool’s skipper since Steven Gerrard’s departure — could be an unexpected casualty.
Asked directly about stories that Spurs were preparing a £25m bid for Henderson, Klopp declined to bat them away. “Everything is OK in this moment but nobody in the world, maybe only Messi, is unsellable,” he said. “There is always a situation. “We are always in touch with all the staff around the national teams, not only England,” said Klopp. “But to be honest at this moment there is absolutely no issue with Daniel. He trains for three, four, five weeks now, completely normal programme, no rest in a special situation.

I read those too and it was in the context of having player poached from us rather than selling players that might not fully fit the future plans.

I like Henderson but wouldnt be at all surprised if he does move on. At his best hes a solid 7 out of 10 player, but since the injury I dont think hes put in a single performance better than 5 out of 10, and thats the problem. His best asset was his consistency, he doesnt have that anymore. Hes got a long term injury which he will need to manage for the rest of his career so the likelihood is that we are facing a law of diminishing returns here. Im happy for him to stay but if hes not able to recapture his old form hes a squad player, and if somebody offers 25 mil for a squad player you take it. We would be fools not to take an offer closer to 30 million.
