I actually thought most people would say Cole was the better of the two, because *ShockHorror* Everton are shite and couldn't possibly have any great players.

When in fact they have the best left back in the league.

In Europe. I said that at the start of last season & I still believe it.

He's an exceptional player, & he'll be at old Trafford next season if Moyes is still there.

Cole has been excellent for England throughout the years and has always performed in big games for them. He has been a great LB for club and country for nearly a decade now. (Not sure of that timeline btw).

There is nothing between them now though. I feel for Baines, he can't do much more. Very unlucky for him that Cole is also around. A bit like Reina in his prime, always playing second fiddle to Casillas. Pepe was good enough at the time to make the first eleven of any other international team at the time bar maybe Italy.

I'd say it's 50/50 for who will start in the summer.

Yeah it's very right, I just think we looked so much better the last 2 games with Baines there. Much more dangerous and much more balanced.

Would be Baines for me next summer. Let's start a pole!

Alaba, Alba and Luis Felipe are my top 3. Marcelo has been very good these last few season and is still only 25.
Baines is obviously in the top 5 though, maybe 4th.

The next big thing is Lucas Digne who PSG signed for 15 mill. He's going to be ace!
And Alex Sandro who plays for Porto.

Yes Cole was the best LB for years and that's why he has so many caps and has won everything. But seeing as he is now past 30, some people are suggesting that on current form that Baines is now the better option.

Why do people have to polarise every debate into a them and us scenario?
