The thing with guys like Alba is that they look fantastic going forward, not so much at the back. Same reason why Marcelo loses out at LB to Coentrao when Real aren't playing La Liga cannon fodder.

Yes Cole was the best LB for years and that's why he has so many caps and has won everything. But seeing as he is now past 30, some people are suggesting that on current form that Baines is now the better option.

Polarising means that someone has to be right and someone is wrong. You and Modo have not accepted any part of the debate for Baines. You've pretty much both just said "Cole is better".

That means that you're not open to swaying your opinion - ergo other people's opinions are wrong, thus polarising the debate.

Look at both sides, there are arguments or debates for either players inclusion.

of course polarise does not mean one is right or wrong. people expressed a view originally that baines was better, I happen to disagree. would you rather we all agree? embrace the difference of views as otherwise we might as well all log off.
