World Cup 2010: France squad refuse to train
France's World Cup team director Jean-Louis Valentin says the national squad is refusing to train following a dispute on the training ground.

Valentin also says he has resigned from the French football federation, shouting that he was "ashamed" of the team.

"It's a scandal for the French, for the young people here. It's a scandal for the federation and the French team," Valentin said. "They don't want to train. It's unacceptable.

"As for me, it's over. I'm leaving the federation. I'm sickened and disgusted."

Valentin walked away from the training field, got into a car and drove off.

It comes amid a turbulent World Cup for the France squad, which has been marred with in-fighting and Nicolas Anelka being sent home for a bust-up with Raymond Domenech.

The team arrived at training Sunday, but a few minutes after taking the field fitness coach Robert Duverne stormed away from an argument with coach Raymond Domenech. Duverne threw his accreditation badge to the ground after the heated discussion and walked away.

The players then boarded the team bus.

The French team is in disarray after striker Nicolas Anelka was sent home for insulting Domenech, whose tactics and management skills have been called into question.

Blanc is gonna have a hell of a challenge sorting that team out. Really needs to rip the team apart and start again.

Easy group for Euro 2012 qualification though:

Romania
Bosnia-Herzegovina
Belarus
Albania
Luxembourg

5th rank v 78th should be a walk over haha its a funny old game..

How about England v Algeria? What are the rankings?

Of the 23 fouls against NZ so far, I'd say only 5-6 have been the right call.

Stay classy, Italy.

Hehe. A couple of them are teenagers and are getting quite aereated with their Uncle Jules.

Ah well. They have to learn these harsh life lessons sometime. ;D

Wow - Italy-New Zealand ... Pathetic stuff from the Italians, heroic from the Kiwis.

Both goals, I think, shouldn't have happened. On the first goal, Gilardino would have got to the header if he wasn't shoved from behind. The second was a very soft penalty. Yes, ____ grabbed De Rossi's shirt but who doesn't in the box?

Wrt Italians - Lippi seems to have gone with the same formula that served him so well in the 2006 world cup. There's a few problems however. He has no towering target man (Luca Toni) and he doesn't have players who will create openings for the other players (Pirlo, Del Piero, Totti), bar Montovlio (sp?). This Italy team is a joke - They don't deserve to get out of the group stage but if they do, I wouldn't want to face them. Like England, they may 'get it right' ...

Anything's possible, but over the years Italy have been vastly better than England at chiselling results out of games, or whole tournaments, in which they weren't playing well.

Still, this time they may well have to do it against an Argentina team which seems to be coming good. Hope Masher breaks a few legs.

eu sou com estes dois 😉

Brazil 1-0 Fabiano
[/quote]Jinx.. wow your reply was exact time as mine liv..

Awesome finish by Fabiano, but on the whole that was yet another drab 45mins of football.

I've been drained of all the excitement I had for this tournament.

Lucio is great, even played RW for some time. Hitler not impressive at all though
