If not dead, then definitely in decline.
There was an article on the BBC about Germany and their Bayern vs Dortmund style dilemma and it does feel like the Dortmund style (which is similar to what Rodgers has switched to at Liverpool) is more dominant these days.
To do what Barca / Spain did with tiki-taka requires once in a generation players at the peak of their powers. Sadly, those players are not quite at the top of their game any more and thus far it feels like both Tata Martino and Del Bosque haven't found a way to successfully play with same tiki-taka spine yet mix the style up.
Last night Spain weren't playing tiki-taka. They kept trying to feed it in quickly to Costa. That's not playing to their strengths and Holland ended up having much more of the ball (and much more confidence) as a result.
They'd have been much better off playing a less effective brand of tiki-taka. They weren't great in the last Euros but won it anyways.
