Will.I.An

If Spurs add Lamela and Willian to Soldado, Dembele, Chadli, Capue, Lennon, Defoe, Paulinho etc, they must be league challengers this year.

Everything on Twitter at the moment is based on a Russian report from this morning. It could well be right as it wouldnt surprise me at all if he left for Spurs, but as of yet loads of people has said he's meeting the clubs reps today which is strange if he has already decided.

The report could be all about getting a bigger fee from potential buyers

if we really pushed the boat out for him and he chooses spurs over us then we need to ask a few questions . Can Rodgers attract players of that quality ? Are the club offering enough in wages ? how do we go about getting the players needed to get into the top 4 ?

I suspect the majority of you will say fuck him , he's overpriced anyway and you may be right but if the manager really wanted him and it came down to him choosing spurs over us then we need to address why.

There's something extremely depressing about the amount of money Tottenham are spending (assuming they sign Willian); you're basically going to have them, Man City and Chelsea all having spunked enormous amounts of money, with the other Mancs having a legacy of doing so. How anyone else is supposed to get top four without following this route is beyond me.

@Binny, how does Dzageov compare to Willian? Dzageov would be a realistic target at half the price of Willian if this 30million figure is to be believed.

So, miss out on 3 top targets then.
Its safe to say we need someone like Levy doing our negotiations.

Willian will probably be fantastic for Spurs just because so many people thinks he's nothing special.

I'm not convinced this has anything to do with who is negotiating. I just think Willian looks at Tottenham and thinks they're a better shout, with the players they've bought and the position they finished last year, to get into the Champions League.

Couldn't it be just a simple matter of money?

If we've got 30mill to spend on Willian, that means we've got 30mill to spend on Lamela/Fischer/Eriksen if it doesn't come off I presume.
Unless Rodgers and his crew think they're all shit.

Theres plenty of talent still around.
Eriksen
Ljajic
Costa
Grenier
Damiao
Illic
Gaitan
Griezmann

i still think it's unbelievable that players could see spurs as a better club than us.

I'm with you, I do think in this situation though, Europa League sold it for him, he won it with Shaktar, I imagine he has a soft spot for the competition. As a club though, it's stunning he would choose that shit heap over us.

Well done to them for the way they're selling Bale. No drama and getting their replacements in beforehand, avoiding any inflated fees.

Don't really care about Willian, the fee and his nationality were the only things getting me excited but losing out to Tottenham isn't a nice thought.

The Mail are taking a punt that the reports from Russia are correct. They could well be correct, but the Mail also said Sahin was signing for Arsenal and Scott Parker was signing for QPR.
