You can make your own soda bread, as long as you can find butter milk. No idea how to make potato bread though.
I've never noticed any difference between HP sauce from a glass or a plastic bottle, last time I was home I brought back two big bottles plus a bottle of that HP sauce with guinness.

When I was in the states I was in our local Hardee's and I asked for salt and vinegar. They looked at me then asked the boss if they had any saltandvinegar (he said it like it was one word). The boss was amazed and said no, I think I made her day though as she had never been asked for such a thing before.
Potato bread is easy to make...take left over mash, doesn't matter if it is seasoned already- it will need more salt. Sieve in flour, a bit at a time and mix it through, until you have a smooth slightly elastic gluey mixture. Flour a board and roll out a circle that will fit your biggest flat frying pan- this is great, because you can roll it to whatever thickness you like. Put it in dry, and whilst it is cooking through, use the spatula to divide it into 4 farls. When it has decent colour flick it over.
Have it at your leisure with your Ulster fry big lad.

You get a farl when something round is cut into 4, making quarters. So you get this with breads that are made on a skillet or frying pan, like soda and potato bread.

Before I digress back to the scotsman I must add that soda bread is boss. Had I spotted them in Andy's sooner on Sunday morning id have been partaking of some them.

Mate- imagine one of those things sliced in half- toast it and butter it- use it to sandwich sausages or bacon or egg or any combination.
Fry it with your fried brekkie. You'll realise how utterly shite that fried slice that English people have is after that. They're amazing.
You can even use them to make an Irish pizza.
