LIVERPOOL FC will launch a bid for Arsenal winger Theo Walcott if they manage to offload Andy Carroll before tomorrow night's transfer deadline.
The Gunners insist Walcott, who has entered the final year of his contract, is going nowhere during this window following talks between the England international and boss Arsene Wenger yesterday.
However, their resolve will be tested if Liverpool can generate sufficient funds to put a £15million offer on the table for the boyhood Reds fan.
It promises to be a hectic 24 hours at Melwood with Stoke City having emerged as favourites to sign Charlie Adam in a £5million deal.
Fellow midfielder Jay Spearing will also leave the club with a season-long loan at Bolton still his most likely destination.
With Adam and Spearing off the wage bill, boss Brendan Rodgers will be in a position to sign Fulham's Clint Dempsey for around £7million.
The USA international, who has been linked with the Reds all summer, is expected to finally get his dream move but whether he's the only new arrival depends largely on Carroll.
Liverpool remain keen to move the striker on and would happily accept West Ham's offer which was submitted last month.
The Hammers are prepared to pay all his wages and a £2million loan fee this season before signing him permanently for £17million next summer if they avoid relegation from the Premier League.

So the Spearing deal is a loan now?

Adam to Stoke is alright. He'll probably rediscover his set pieces and get loads of assists.
Cant wait to play them.......
