Who are the next Sturridge/Coutinho types we can sign?

Controversially or sensationally, would place Ince in the same Coutinho and Sturridge bracket - talented players who won't cost astronomical fees (read in the tens of millions) and just need the right stage to go to the next level. I know, I know, he's tearing it up in the Championship. Think Ince can be a similar success if he returns.

Ship downing out and replace him with Ince, i'd like that.

Yeah that's my thinking (hope) too. As part of the transfer, we can also loan/palm off the likes of Sterling, Flanagan to Blackpool. Fairly confident that Ince's fantastic goal and assist numbers will make a decent conversion into the premiere league. Even if he doesn't work out, being young and English, his transfer cost is easily recoupable.

Leon Goretzka from Bochum is a great prospect. Wouldn't be against Tom Ince coming back either, people saying he'll be available for free how does that work? Surely Blackpool would've cashed in on hIm rather than lose him on a free.

Not sure how he's been getting on at Real Madrid but Essien doesn't seem to be wanted by Chelsea.

Mourinho will take him back with him to Chelsea; he started 17 league games, 6 CL games and 6 domestic cup games on loan at Real, so I think Mourinho will find a use for him again.

Doesn't his contract run out this summer? (or the next. I can't remember)

Blackpool is managed by his dad, and they are asking a fortune for him which no one's going to pay.
But I wonder if his dad doesn't secretly think it would be better for Tom (not Blackpool) to go to a big club on a free, with the big wages that entails. There is a real conflict of interest here...

Here's a question.

Would we have to pay a development fee to Blackpool because of his age.

How ironic would that be, given that he came through our youth system.

Mentioned him in another thread ... Sakho, CB from PSG. Was marginalized by Ancelotti and the signing of Silva & Alex. He'll go probably for 5-7 million - and he will be a dominant CB imo.

I read an article on Sakho that said he was marginalised because Ancelotti preferred 2 Brazilians (Alex and another) to play at CB. If Ancelotti leaves Sakho might get another chance, depending on who joins.

Talking of PSG reminded me of another defender - Diego Lugano. Lost his place cos PSG splashed the cash on the likes of Thiago Silva and Alex. Did well with Malaga after moving there on loan. A yr left on his contract.

Diego Lugano (Paris Saint-Germain to Malaga – Loan): The Uruguayan captain joined Malaga after failing to find consistent playing time in Paris. Lugano made an immediate impact for Malaga, winning 9 of 10 tackles in a 3-2 win over Mallorca. From there, Malaga orchestrated a four match unbeaten run (Lugano missed one game), but since mid-February Lugano and Malaga have cooled. The squad have only managed 5 of 15 possible points, and Lugano is only winning 58% of challenges. However, Lugano has remained solid in the air, winning 80% of aerial duels.

Mauricio Isla (Juventus), Jese Rodriguez (Real Madrid Castilla)

LIVERPOOL and Arsenal may be tempted to rekindle their interest in Juventus midfielder Mauricio Isla.

The 24-year-old Chile international, who is valued at around £15m, has admitted he does not know whether he will be staying at Juve.

He said: "I do not know if I will stay in Turin - it is an issue which is my agent is dealing with."

Isla's ability to play in a number of positions makes himself an attractive proposition for interested suitors, with both Liverpool and Arsenal casting an eye over him last year.

Brendan Rodgers has since replaced Kenny Dalglish at Anfield - but King Kenny would have spoken with owners Fenway Sports Group and highlighted the strengths of the South American.

A potential stumbling block could be Isla's fitness, though.

He tore his anterior cruciate ligament last year and has played just 16 times this season.

RE: Lugano.

Dirty player who I've liked in the past. Left Brazil for Fenerbache before making a move to PSG. A fellow compatriot for Luis too. He is 32 though. Would only be signed as a stop gap to add experience to the side. Should we be avoiding this?

Alan Dzagoev.

I think he could make a huge impact here.

A good few of us have mentioned him over the last two years and he is yet to make a 'big' move.

Yes.

He just won his first Russian Premier League title (and found himself in a bit of hot water after being filmed among delirious CSKA fans chanting a highly insulting song about Zenit); it really seems like a right moment for a move abroad now. He also needs to prove a point to the Russia national team coach Fabio Capello who so far refused to give Dzagoev the starting role in the team. I would be happy with any one from the list of Dzagoev, Eriksen, Honda and Mkhitaryan - those are the real Coutihno types.

Shaquiri is a good shout especially since Bayern are signing Gotze, would be a great replacement for Downing. Don't know about Tello though would rather us keep Sterling and Ibe. That Greek lad looks brilliant not afraid of a tackle either!

Just read that West Ham are looking at pairing Carroll with Lukaku, is this a loan or are they looking to actually buy him, if they're looking to buy we should hijack any bid they make and sign him!!!!

No way Chelsea will sell, and no way they'll loan him out to us.

Shaquiri is an interesting shout mate. Would be a great signing, although probably also highly unlikely.
