Not in terms of positions or whatever, but in terms of finding good, young players with obvious quality who for whatever reason aren't playing at their club and will be available for a reasonable price.

What options are there?

The swiss lad at munich is one a few people have brought up, might be a bit of a Sahin move though I'm not sure we need to address that position

Nicolai Boilesen. 21 year old left back at Ajax. Kept out by injury and the form of Daley Blind (who is the son of Ajax legend Danny Blind). Blind was available on a free but has signed a new contract.

Daley Blind.

He sounds like a newspaper?

Ah now, those MLS coupons have to be used. What happened to the American kid we signed? No breakthrough?

There's 2 isn't there - the midfielder that broke his leg after playing well this season & the young striker who jus joined up in the last couple of weeks after being on loan while I assume work visa issues were being fixed.

I forget their names.

Bijev or Pelosi? Bijev just got his work permit a month or so ago; he'd been on loan to some club in Germany. Has come on as a sub in a couple of games for the U-21s (the last one being the 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford). Scored in his first game with a well-timed run and neat finish. We won't be seeing him in the first team for at least another season I reckon, given the competition for places now in the U-21s (Morgan, Ngoo, Yesil, Bijev) unless a couple of them go on loan. Yesil did his cruciate ligament this season so he'll need a season in the U-21s to get back into his stride.

Pelosi had been playing in the U-21s and had done well. He was supposedly on the cusp of a first team call up when he broke his leg in a U-21 game. I think it was the same game that saw Brad Smith (Aussie), another promising player who was also on the verge of a call up, do his cruciate ligament. So we won't be seeing Pelosi in the first team until a season later.

Surely Shaqiri will be replacing Robben or Ribery on the wings for Bayern over the next season or so? Can't see him wanting to move now that a regular starting place is on the cards.

Dragovic - Young CB from FC Basel would cost 5-8mil I'd say.

Vydra - Watford Striker 5-10mil

Ilicic - Palermo CM - 10mil

Jese Rodriguez - Real Madrid LW/RW 5mil

There is plenty of young quality options available for decent fees.

Blind will have a hard time keeping his spot in the Ajax team next Season if Boilesen comes back at full strength as he's a rare talent. Compared to Blind, who's had a great Season mind, he's better on the ball, better going forward and twice as fast. Blind may be stronger but from what I've seen at Boilesen against the best, like Ronaldo, his balance and agility seems to make up for it.

Would be a very risky signing as he's just been injured for a year however. Should the prize be around £1M we should be all over him though, I just can't see Ajax sell at this stage for such pennies with his talent in mind.

Sorry about this.

We are fucked when Lucas Andersen gets a few more games.
I have actually been against us signing Lucas Andersen whenever being linked in the past. He has looked a decent prospect, and perhaps better than that as well, but imo not in the level of Eriksen, Boilesen and now Fischer. Despite popular belief I am only interested in future Danish Liverpool players if they have the ability to be the best around. The Piechnik's, the Steensgaards' and the Poulsen's I could easily live without, the Mølby's and Agger's I like.

Anyway, Andersen has progressed nicely and if words are to be believed he's set to get a lot of games next Season for Ajax despite his tender age. He has been a genuine Liverpool target on a few years now and taking in to consideration how closely we seem to follow Ajax these days, he must still be on our radar.

His career in highlights so far:
