Which was worse..

These last 12-18 months under Rodgers reign.. or Hodgson..

Many people may disagree, but I would say Rodgers..

Purely down to the embarrassing results we have had over the last 6 months and his baffling tactical decisions..

Club records upon club records Broken.. Yes Hodgson was a bumbling idiot, he made some poor signings, but he did at least have us doing well in Europe..

It's a tricky one... I would say Hodgson primarily because he was such a southern cunt and thought he had "deserved" the job, in short I didn't like the fella. But Hodgson never had 250M to spend did he...

Hodgson.

Rodgers tried and failed. Hodgson played for a draw at Everton and babbled about "Utopia".

The answer is Hodgson. Stupid thread.

RN setting the bait and getting plenty of bites at a blatant wum thread. Rodgers vs woy, oh reeeeally

I'm comparing the recent slump to Hodgson reign.

Not the whole picture.

This is far worse IMHO... for the reasons I already noted...

Oncey also made a very valid point... He spent feck all compared to what Rodgers has, we are the lowest we have ever been in the European rankings and he is shite in Europe..

Hodgson.. I hated him with a passion, and never wanted him at the club in the first place, but for me the last 6 months have felt far worse than anything we put up with back then..

Both are terrible with the media and both managers made us laughing stock.

Hodgson however was always going to be a short term option, so you just knew one day he would be gone, with Rodgers however, it's a FSG project... It is that reason why it has felt far worse, especially with bad result after bad result, because the chancer has been more difficult to shift..

So get off your high horse, read the thread title for what it is.

Jono, first of all, why even pit them against each other? One is a budgie in a suit masquerading as a football manager and the other is a hungry young manager who was over promoted and has now found the job too big for him. However he did get us 2nd and playing some of the best football we've seen in years. Football so good that it had you exclaiming your love for him in previous threads, we all did at some point. So good, it had us all singing WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE in the King Harry at Christmas. Rodgers even once had the Kop's backing and his song was sang around Anfield. Oh and before anyone says it, yes I do realise that Suarez and a fit Sturridge were the catalyst to ignite that glorious football.

It's a little unfair to exclude that season from your selected time frame comparison. So to clarify, you've picked a snap shot of his tenure at it's worst, asked us to ignore the positive period and then pit it against Roy's term here?? Well, in that case, I STILL think Roy's was worse.

Roy was a buffoon. He didn't seem to respect the fans. During the H&G debacle he stated that the fans weren't helping the situation. When he wasn't throwing our own players under the bus in interviews he was licking up to Fergie. I was furious the time he didn't defend Torres in that interview and basically sided with Fergusson. Rodgers might be deluded but I'll take that over Roy's defeatism any day of the week. If I had my way I'd write Hodgson out of our records books. He came in to steady the ship, a safe pair of hands but spent the entire time mumbling on the sidelines rubbing his face.

In ten years time I'll remember that football we played that season under Rodgers. I won't remember anything positive under Roy. The last 12 months from Rodgers have been piss poor and it will cost him his job but it was 100% worse under Hodgson.

Again yes.. out of context.. I am under no illusion of the 1 good season we had under Rodgers.. I am not mooting this point..

Maybe if I said how does this current setup make you feel compared to Hodgson reign, the answers maybe different...

At the moment I feel far worse as a Liverpool fan than I ever felt under Hodgson

Did Hodgson really say that thing about Alder Hey??

Lol that's fucking hilarious. I wonder what he'd say at the Battle of Britain tribute? 'Some of these fine men were among the bravest airmen of the early years of the war - and I include the Luftwaffe crews in that, too'.

The time endured under Hodgson was akin to being abused, telling the world about it and having no-one believe you, i.e. the worst.

Rodgers is a bit of a joke and there have been some real low points but there really is no comparison.

Nope, it was FAR worse under Hodgson. It's not even open for discussion for me.

At least with Rogers we can remember the good football we played. I cannot discount that and remove it from my line of thinking when comparing the two. That seeps into our subconscious and as a result elevates him above Hodgson immediately. I can't make a case for Hodgson over Rodgers at all. I understand the snapshot / time frame you want to compare but I don't think it can be done. I think it's been unanimous that it was worse under Roy regardless of time frame.

Yep, I remember a lad in the pub telling me we didn't give poor Roy a fair crack of the whip. Give over, Hodgson's time here was a sick joke.

Roy seems to be some sort of double agent they way he has been able to deceive people along the way. We witnessed an incapable bitter old sod when many viewed him as a gentleman of the game who deserved the English job. It's baffling. I thought he'd be a safe pair of hands when he arrived. A lot of that was wishful thinking but still.

It certainly is, and unfortunately it's pretty much confined to this country. Over in Europe they're under no illusions about the old scrote.

I think this is a very fair as honest account of the reality.....Hodgson by a country mile though for me

Hodgson was a nightmare. Everything about that period was difficult to swallow. I can't help but clench my teeth when i hear/ read his name. Praising everyone else whilst almost mocking the fans with underhanded jibes. Bellend
