Selling Alonso for £30M wasnt bad, replacing him with an injury prone italian that wouldnt be fit until november was a monumental mistake.
Lucas is an awful footballer. Thinking he would step up was very delusional.
At the end of the day the one to blame is the one who made these decisions.

they only made what was generated available to us, if that trend continues then it's going to be difficult (i.e what is Babel going to raise when he fucks off?). Chelsea, City etc. dont need to sell players they stock up on them because they have unlimited budgets
for example, we sold Keane but didnt replace him. might have been handy to have another international forward but not allowed to seemingly, the other teams buy them at will

I agree that they are cunts but if you step back and look at it realistically, we sold Alonso and got Aqualani, sold Arbeloa and got Johnson. So really, in theory, we've improved a squad that came runner-up last season. Now it's a long way to go until the end of this season but can you explain how an improved squad is playing rubbish? The owners have provided the funds to improve the squad, even if it is making available what came in.
