What are complex carbs ?
They're the "good" carbs that take longer to digest so basically the sugar is broken down slower and gives you steadier supply of the energy so less of the sugar is turned into fat. They're basically found in things like vegetables, whole grain breads and cereals, legumes (beans), brown or wild rice, some fruits, and contain high amounts of fiber, vitamins, and minerals.

They're not highly refined like simple carbs.

dont you add taste to your pasta, lettuce and salmon?

mayo or pure olive oil with a dash of salt and pepper?
Mayo and olive oil no thanks

Tabasco works too.
tabasco with a sprinkle of cilli and soy sauce would do me too

kris, my basics tend to be rice with a meat (usually chicken) and two veg

but chicken can be done in so many ways:

for quick meal a Hainanese or Singapore Chicken Rice. Ginger, garlic chilli & soy sauce dip

For snacks or late night supper, grilled or bbq chicken wings will go down well will cold lager

Lunch with Indian Curry with rice or chapatti is the way to go

Btw, all chicken dishes go well with tabasco as Avvy will surley add 🙂

Barbecue sauce is nice
I usually just take barbecue sauce on barbecued meats or pizza...tabasco for everything else.

Nah,tabasco goes poorly with most Indian curries.

I dont use it on chicken rice because it spolis the garlic taste..the best mixture is the chili sauce,a dab of crushed garlic and some dark soy sauce..you mix that and dribble it on the rice.Yum.

Of course, with stuff like chicken wings,TABASCO BABY!!!!!!!!

Actually,chili padi.

Didn't know we were talking only about chicken.

Apologies,Y1.

Although I have never eaten and never will eat chik-kut-teh which is a blasphemy perpetrated against pork.

Since, we're on chicken...Dried chili chicken with cashewnuts is my entry.Yum.

Ingredients

250g chicken breast meat, cubed

10 dried chillies, seeded and halved

1 onion, quartered

1/2 green capsicum, cubed

100g cashewnuts, deep-fried

2 tbsp oil

Marinade for chicken:

1/2 tbsp light soy sauce

1/2 tsp sugar

1/4 tsp pepper

1/2 tbsp sesame oil

1/2 an egg white

Sauce (combine):

1 tbsp Premium oyster sauce

1 tbsp light soy sauce

1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp cooking wine

1/2 tsp sugar or to taste

1 tsp sesame oil

1/4 tsp salt or to taste

1/2 tsp dark soy sauce

2 tbsp water

Thickening (combine):

1/2 tsp corn flour

1 tbsp water
Method
Marinate chicken for 20-30 minutes. Shallow fry chicken until fragrant and golden. Drain and set aside.

Heat oil in a wok, fry dried chillies for 30 seconds. Add in the rest of the ingredients and the pre-fried chicken. Stir-fry briskly, then add thickening. Sprinkle with a dash of sesame oil and mix in cashewnuts before dishing up to serve.

I of course can't cook it for nuts, but it's yummy.

I'll leave it for Y1 to submit a picture. 😉
