What next for Brendan?

Rodgers' break will last as long as it takes Newcastle to fire Mclaren, I reckon. Perfect fit for them.

He won't have the pressures of club football.. no transfers to get wrong and he will be able to develop youth...

He will also have a set quota of players that he will be able to get his philosophies working and gel... It could work well for him...

I think you're just making stuff up in your head to convince yourself that you're not posting stuff that's completely contradictory to everything you've said about him over the last year. Quite odd really.

The fact I didn't want him as a Liverpool manager doesn't mean I dont want him to do well elsewhere..

That would cause a slide back to old look Rodgers and possibly a return to the wife.

The wife seemed to be the footballing genius in that relationship. Could be a good thing for him.

I must admit, I'm laughing at the people calling him an idiot (not necessarily on here, generally on the old social media). You call him an idiot, but he's managed to get paid very well over the years.

The North East would be a step down, I would imagine he will bide his time and wait for Pocchetino to get fucked off and take a London job. It's the only place for a consultant I assure you 🙂

Well, if this is true I dont think signing players should be his responsibility in the future. Wherever he ends up.

Rodgers wanted to sign Ashley Williams instead of Sakho, Bertrand instead of Moreno and Clint Dempsey instead of Sturridge. [Tony Barrett]

Jono, you have entered bizarro world mate. Making a case for Rodgers now to manage England after months of slagging him off? According to you he's a chancer, he can't set up a defence, he doesn't learn from mistakes etc etc. Why on earth would you want him to manage your country?

Yep, always thought this was the case. He pushed through some targets and got overridden by the committee on some others, such as those 3. It's really amazing to me how someone of such limited vision at scouting and transfers can be so blind to his ineptitude and keep pushing and fighting for more say and control in transfer matters. Why not accept your limitations and delegate those responsibilities to someone more qualified?

He was in charge of global football brand with enough money to not only bring the most talented players from literally any corner of the world, but to build a powerful and far-reaching scouting system that would deliver such players every season. Instead his DOF skill-set did not evolve past the level of a mid-table EPL manager somewhere in the 90's.

Take a year out, then coach in Spain. He's got a house there, he loves the football there, obviously, and it's also vital he gets a long break from the British media. And I hope he finds a bit of happiness again, it's been a tough old time.
Spot-on old chap.

Redninja contradicting himself? Never!

So England can lose and therefore be better in the long run.

I'm not sure he is TBH. A team in their position needs to build from the back, and that's exactly what Rodgers isn't good at doing. Unless he's learned a lot from his mistakes at LFC, he'll still need a smaller club with forward-looking management which is doing OK and is ready to take the next step up - another Swansea, in fact.

If Moyes comes back to this country I could see Rodgers replacing him at Sociedad, especially as he apparently speaks Spanish.

They'd probably relish getting an attack-minded manager whether he's right for them or not.
