What does Klopp do between now and Jan?

We leak goals.
Until he fixes that, doesn't matter what he does. Play 4231 with two sitting if you have to, but just stop leaking goals. We score almost every game. Do that and keep a clean sheet and we win most games. It's demoralising the team and causes nervousness to run riot amongst players and fans.
May as well give opponents a goal head start every game at this rate.

I have decided not to blame the defence. How about our front men actually score some fucking goals for a change as they get the lions share of the teams support while or defence is left to two players to look after. How about they score a goal from the 10-20 opportunities they get per game and actually make the right decisions in front of goal ? In the face of it they are worse than our defence

Only 3 teams in the league have scored more goals than us which is a decent indicator of where our squad is relative to the rest of the league. Only 2 teams have conceded more goals than us. We've actually conceded more than 2 of the teams in the relegation zone. Our defence is comically poor.

I'd advocate we train on training days and play on match days with a random selection of rest days fitted in as appropriate. In addition we should analyze where we need to improve and work on those matters, a bit like allowing a professional manager to manage really. We could also, usefully monitor those currently injured and see if we can get them back to fitness.

In essence carry on doing the best we can until the opportunity arises to see if we can win the lottery when picking new players to hire who might improve our situation.

Win the lottery? What are you quacking on about?

Has to find a place for Milner in the XI. Has to at least try an give more protection to the centre of the defence from the midfield.

Also, drop Can for being a complete dick, until he signs his contract or admits he's fucking off.

It's not as if we are overwhelmed with CM options though. Nobody wants to see The Shithouse Ghost play.

I'd like to see vs utd:

.....................Ward
Gomez...Lovren...Matip....Robertson
.............Milner.......Hendo
......................Rat
.....Salah....Firmino.....Mane

Is there a stat that shows how many chances/goal scoring opportunities our defence concede? We give away very few chances and I bet we are amongst the leagues lowest - our chances conceded:goals against ratio is insane. I'm not sure such a stat would actually tell us anything except our defence and keeper are shit.

Can is plainly pissing about. He was one of the players Klopp was referencing as having an obsession with the CL, and qualification being a precursor to him signing a new contract. That's done and dusted, and the contract still isn't signed. So fuck him - if you want to play no football in a World Cup season, knock yourself out - or sign the fucking contract and show you're committed to the club.

It's a bit depressing that in terms of personnel the options available to us are pretty limited.

Lovren could do with a break by the sounds of it but the alternatives weaken us even more.

The midfield needs a kick up the ass but Milner aside - who is a bit samey samey anyways - there is no one who you'd trust to make a real difference.

To answer the question...no change should be done to the way he sets up our team and tactics. What needs to happen is for our players to step up and make something of the games. They are just fucking lazy .. all of them.

As if.

What has been statistically proven is that we are no longer a pressing team (1st or 2nd, alongside Spurs, last season down to 9th this) and that could only have happened with explicit instructions from our coaching team. Why is the pertinent question. Are they that worried about burn-out with the addition of the CL ?

I think Jurg should put the players names in a bag, shake it up and draw the names Lottery style. It lacks some sophistication granted, but it could work.

Wijnaldum is a frustrating player because he is actually talented - he's been genuinely great in some games and not in a "get out the chalkboard to work out why" kinda way either - so begs the question why he goes missing so often.

Yes, but it wasn't exactly a surprise to most people though.

It had been a long-standing complaint of the Newcastle fans also, although quite a few chose to ignore it when it was brought up when we signed him

He's a massive shithouse ghost

I know everyone hates the Ox already but I think Klopp needs to give him a run of games. Let's see if there's anything about him or not. Give him half a dozen games in the middle, see what he can do. It's not like any of the others are tearing up trees at the mo, they're all droppable.

I know we're at a low point but we're still not THAT low. The guy struggles with the basics and looks like a headless chicken. Am actually not sure who is worse between him and Markovic.

5 minutes at the end of a game is pointless, he needs a run. There's not much competition for places so what the hell. And I couldn't care less how shit he was for England, John Barnes was shite for about 60 of his caps.

He didn't help his cause when he stunk the place out when we lost to leics in the cup game. He was by far the worst player on the pitch. He's shown nothing that says to give him a chance.

Anyway, wouldn't worry, being the footballing deity he is, Kim Jong Klopp will soon turn him into the new Beckanbauer, his signing after all.
