What Can he do?

With the form Henderson's in at the moment, and make no mistake, he's been absolutely imperious, how on earth does Emre Can get back in this team? He was one of the names to build the team around for me last season, now I don't want to disrupt the team whilst it's in such fantastic form. He'll get his run in the cups, of course, but I struggle to see how he'll find his way back into the team in the short team.

I think Wijnaldum is more under threat than Henderson.

But Can also plays RB for Germany.
It could be that Clyne gets a rest.

Dont think its a bad problem to have

It's a squad game, he will come into the side and play regularly as will Henderson, Wijnaldum, Lallana etc.

He looked very rusty on Saturday, he was Lucas in disguise at first committing 3 fouls in about a minute and misplaced a few passes.

I thought Gini looked a bit leggy though so he may have to be rested pretty soon.

We're only in September. It's unlikely that Henderson, Wijnaldum, Lallana will all be able to keep up their form, fitness and energy levels for the entire season.

Can will get his chance, and then it's up to him to perform well enough to stay in contention. He's not exactly got a lot of other competition for a midfield place, and one of the players currently in there usually plays further forward anyway.

If we play in Europe next season we're going to need one or two additions to squad.
We don't have enough games as of yet, so I really hope we go for the elusive domestic treble so that everyone gets enough game time.

Also with Klopp's style we are going to need to rotate from time to time. Everyone is going to get games, but right now with our 1 game a week schedule some need to be patient.

Yeah, there's plenty of time for him, although he must be cursing that injury. He said the other said he was 'starting from zero', indicating he knew his place in the pecking order and was going to have to work hard to change the current starting eleven.

It'll be Wijnaldum's position he'll be eyeing up I suspect. Henderson and Lallana are playing a higher level right now.

I was watching our midfield movement for a while in the hull game and they are so fluid. Someone in another thread said klopp's told them to protect or be an option ( or something like that) which is exactly what they were doing. It was lovely to watch.

I really like Can but he's not as mobile as the others so I just wonder where he fits. We've got a system now that relies on movement and the clamour for a DM has died down so I'm not too sure where he goes. You'd think in the bigger games but we took 7 points from 3 of our hardest 5 away games without him.

I like him but thought he was well off the pace and pretty ropey when he came on on Saturday, I don't think he will be starting for a while.

Even if he is finding his Fitness after summer and injuries, he still have some way to og on his freshness. He has a little bit Heavy musculatur in comparison to some of the others, so I suspect it takes a little bit before he has his legs moving the same way as those that are a month and two ahead of him. However he will come good over the Autumn. He is still a Young lad, but with high ambitions and german discipline I think Our coaches will get him where they want him in not too long. Hopefully the in forms will stay fit and fine for a long period, but with Nationals coming up you never know when you need that extra legs in midfield already against United.

He needs to warm up his head as much as his body when he comes on as sub. His play on Saturday was weird, just like it was in midweek. On both occasions he made some stupid decisions, played some bad passes and generally seemed to drain the energy from the side. He really needs to shake up his game.

Yep, his sub performances have been below par to be polite, but I believe he needs to play his way back into form, he's lost his rhythm, but that will return with time.

It was pretty much similar to Coutinho when he came on (Leicester). Try too much to dictate a game that we already won..... Just go with flow 🙂

Think it is a case of him needing a few games to get back in. But at this moment in time there is no way I would swap hendo or gini for anyone; Gini is very clever player and seems to read the game very well - better tan Can. I am surprised to hear if any of our players are tired playing roughly 1 game per week. If they cannot manage this then how the fuck are they going to cope next season if we go into Europe.

We've got Grujic as well, but I think most people have nailed the point. Injuries, form etc will see the team continuously evolve and change. The Christmas games are a big factor, and then if we get back in Europe.

I wouldnt read to much into Can's performances so far. He's clearly well off the pace after those injuries.
Doubt he'll start before we play Spurs in the league cup.

Can's a very good player. He's just shite coming on from the bench at the mo. Grujic I guess needs time to acclimatise, but he's not impressed me at all so far - he looks a bit scared.
