no player 'carries' a team, that's fucking bullshit. defenders need protection, strikers need the ball, midfielders need support. you win and lose as a team. if there was such a thing a one man team then the manager should send out that sole player to win games and sell the rest for a huge profit.

I agree. I don't think Gerrard on his own would beat a team of 11 men. Cheers.

I get the point, gerrard has definately been one of our more important players but (a) he is paid handsomely for being the best player and (b) he still needs a team to win him the ball.
 
Wow, so when a side gets described as a 'one man team' that doesn't actually mean they *could* play a match with one man vs 11?
 
it bugs me when praise is lavished on an single individual, that basically pisses on the chips of every other member of the team who contributes.
