I have some sympathy with this view and also the more positive perspective. Both are valid.
It wasn't a good performance and we created almost nothing, but there were a few positive displays to enjoy. The overall quality was poor, and there was no obvious tactical plan, which is worrying. So many opportunities were wasted with a terrible ball, an awful pass or a blundered finish. We deserved nothing.
Mignolet (6) a clean sheet is always a bonus, but the usual splay- footed kicking and junpy disposition was apparent at times, and his indecision is always final
Clyne (7) a player that rarely gives you less than a 6 or 7 out of 10. One of the best signings under Rodgers, and probably the best defensive one.
Caulker (7) should be starting ahead of both Sakho and Toure. Lucky to get away with a clear handball, but dominant in the air.
Lovren (6) missed one or two easy headers and made the occasional rash decision, but a solid enough return, even if he still looks like one big mistake per game is his ratio
Smith (6) pace and enthusiasm, but a few sloppy passes and another who missed some key headers
Stewart (6) got around the pitch well, and made some great challenges. Not exactly full of finesse on the ball, but did the gritty work well
Brannigan (7) composed in possession and never hid. A very decent display, but doesn't have any obvious physical or technical standout qualities. But a good midfielder he certainly seems to be and had one great shot saved.
Allen (7) busy and willing, he helped keep the game under a modicum of control and we shaded the midfield battle.
Ibe (3) got almost every decision wrong and wasted possession several times. Woeful.
Texeira (5) another whose tricks and flicks were largely wasted. One or two lovely passes, but spent too much time on the floor
Benteke (4) usual decent hold up play, but he's a 32m striker with a great scoring record at this level. He looks bereft
