West Ham (A)

I kinda want the run without the penalty to go on for a record length of time. For a laugh and that. What's the longest run? I remember Everton went the whole season without one, but got one on the last day.

The way refs are protected from criticism is a joke. Rodgers should be able to go out and say how lucky we were not to be undone by some of the worst decisions I've seen (collectively in a match) this season.

Great win to say the least. Started well and took a deserved lead, cracking goal by Johnson.

Yes, West Ham had us on the ropes at times, they're a physical side and make it difficult for the opposition.

Fair play to the lads though, stuck at it, yes we got a bit lucky but then again there's been many a game where we've battered the other team and not won so fuck it. Long overdue change of luck.

Our best performers were Johnson, Skrtel and Shelvey imo. Gerrard and Allen need to up their game and quickly, way off the pace.

Great result although not entirely deserved. But will take playing shit and winning all day long.

Johnson superb. Again.

Most of the others shite again. Are people still trying to tell me Allens gonna be world class or has that all blown over now like? Disappointing again today. As I said above though, he wasn't alone in that respect.
He wasn't that bad.
And your obsession to the point where it looks like you hope that Allen is shite is quite fucking sad.

Gerrard was pretty good in the 2nd half imho.
Great win today, fucking amazing feeling to turn it around!

It was well deserved and despite the fact that Probert cunt done everything in his power to stop us.

If he has a good game, i will say so. He impressed me a lot in the first 3 or 4 matches. He's been dogshite since. Im allowed an opinion and I dont think he is the player most of you seem to think he is. And im currently being proven right.

If he proves me wrong i will admit it, just as I did with Lucas.

He was poor today. I don't mean about the pen because I thought that was a bit harsh on the lad, but his play in the first half was poor, he constantly got out fought in the midfield and was second to everything. Henderson on the other hand is looking better and better.

Hes been poor for 2-3 months Mark.

Yes the pen was very harsh so im not even involving that. I just expect a lot lot more from him going by how highly he is rated on here.

Today's goals. The pass by Sterling to Cole for the equalizer was splendid. Slipped right down the centre between 3 West Ham players taking them out. Also good to see Gerrard make the supporting run into the centre when Cole received the pass.

I just don't know what to think with him, I think his short passing game is good and when he carries the ball he looks promising, but there's just not enough there with him that stands out and makes it obvious that moving him forward will have that significant an impact on his play. I do like him and think there are qualities there, so given time he might come good and he's only young. It just feels like Hendo/Lucas over again, all tidy enough in their own right, but there's a fair amount of indulgence needed from us to see the best of them. Give it a few years and the three of them might be running the show for us, but we still lack that genuine play maker in there.

He was good against Soton, but I doubt he'll get credit for that. Dont think he was that poor today either. The whole team were struggeling in the last 25 mins of the first half.
91% pass comp, while we had 61% poss away to WH, and we won. Doesnt sound poor to me.

And he's 22 years old. He'll be an excellent player for us if we just give him time.

I'm also waiting to see what all the Allen stuff is about. He just looks like feeble Danny Murphy with inferior passing.

Hansern, we didnt play well today in general. I can count on one hand the players that performed. There is a lot wrong with this team in my eyes.

Allen is teacher's pet and won't get dropped. Like Bendeson last season.

It's ok kids, I'm working on a ego extraction machine and once complete it will allow managers to drop shit players they spent far too much money on.

Agreed. We didnt play well which makes the result even better.
Not sure if I agree with the second bit. We've looked better and better these last few weeks.
The first half against Soton was excellent.
Couple of signings and the team will look very good imho.

Im happy with about 7 or 8 players at the min. Reina, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Enrique, Lucas, Suarez, Stirling. The rest i'd quite happliy replace.

We are at least 4 players from being a good side. Theres a reason why we are only 10th and its not referees and shit like that. just havent been good enough.

But anyway, great result and im chuffed to bits. Lets get a nice run going and see where we end up.

Where does this we were lucky bollox come from? How many clear chances did West Ham create - 1 or 2? we had many more I thought we showed some character fighting back from a very very physical opposition backed up by a Ref who fascillitated their aggressive play. Carlton Cole had one of the best games I hvae seen him play and by and large we handled him ok. And what about the penno in the first half when Collins had Agger in a head lock on a corner in full view of the ref. We won that game against the odds

Yep, agreed mate. One game at the time. We've thought that we've hit form several times these last few seasons only to lose the next game.
Villa at home wont be easy, no game is, but hopefully we'll play well and win.
I'll take a scrappy 1-0 any day of the week mind....

I know but we are all paranoid if we say the ref was poor.
The usual shite from the 2kool4school brigade.

We were ace for twenty minutes but that seems to happen a lot. I don't think we played as well as we did in a load of games we drew so it seems lucky even if it wasn't.

Anyways, first back to back wins in the league in 2012. Woot.
