Wes Sneijder - good idea?

This is Sneijder ffs, who could be at affordable money.

regards

my sentiments exactly, the same schneider who quite possibly was unfairly overlooked for the balon dor w when it was awarded to Messi in 2010.... an utterly different level of class to Joe Cole.... but that does beg the question why is nobody big going in for him. Depressing really, we dont even allow ourselves to want good players with big names.

it probably is a bad deal for a number of reasons but purely because we're shite and i don't trust us to implement a 'buying young" policy correctly , i'd love if we got him . At least it would generare some hope

Wasn't Cavani a done deal?

There is an article about Arsenal sniffing around Cavani today i think.... It would be a safer deal for us re schneider if we could loan him with an agreed fee maybe to be paid later.... we have taken money of the wage bill but spunking it all on a player who might or might not be past it is not what we should be doing IMO.

HOWEVER Schneider is a genuinely world class talent and fuck knows it would be nice to have a few more of those.

Well let's be honest there are many clubs that would be interested if he dropped his wages demands. He would still be playing for inter for starters. So really its a nothing article which is just stating the obvious.
???
He hasn't put in a transfer request. Which means he'll be paid off the rest of his contract from Inter, on top of his wages for a new club.
So even if he were to drop his wage demands at a new club to 50k after tax, he'd technically be earning 250k per week for a couple of years.
That's very different to him simply signing a new contract with Inter under reduced terms.

I haven't seen him play for years so I'm in no position to judge. It would end up either being inspired or a disaster. There's no middle ground with it.

He's a hugely talented player on his day, but injuries, attitude issues, lack of interest, high wages make it a difficult decision. The club should meet with him and see where his head is. If he seems committed and really wants to come then it would be worth considering.

Can't see this happening at all but he's only 28 so if he came I would expect him to do really well with Sturridge, Suarez Gerrard, Sterling and of course Downing 😉

Absolutely there is. On his best days he is streets ahead of anyone we have in the middle now on current form, on his average days he is still better, on his off-days he's no worse.
We have a good defence, with Sterling, Suarez, Borini and Sturridge we have a very decent attack - it's the middle that is not functioning. 3rd/4th are still within reach and Sneijder could very well be the catalyst we need to achieve a PL slot .. repaying everything we spent on him and a lot more besides.

Turkish friend of mine, massive Galatasaray fan told me deal is not done because Fati Terim doesnt want him but wants Kaka instead...

Good summary.

Wesley has ambitions to captain the Dutch at WC2014. He won't be short of motivation. Liverpool is a great platform to get his starting place back.

He will transform us as an attacking force. This is not a gamble but rather an opportunity that shouldn't be missed. Look at the alternatives and what they'd cost. He is world class, will contribute in goals, give us an edge and suit our overall play. He is a cheap option at 6M. He is prepared to make concessions on his wages for game time and to fulfil his WC ambition. He himself said money isn't the issue. Get in!

Wesley Sneijder has been warned he needs to cut his wage demands in half if he is to fulfil his Premier League dream.
Liverpool made informal enquiries about the player’s situation, after the Dutch midfielder was told he can leave cost-cutting Inter Milan in this transfer window.
But they have been put off by talk of a £6million a year salary demand AFTER tax, which equates to almost £240,000-a-week.
The Reds are determined to cut their own wage bill and restrict even superstar signings to around £90,000 a week.
Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers said on Thursday about a deal for Sneijder: “I couldn’t see that happening.”
He has also calmed talk of a move for Barcelona striker David Villa, who will not be allowed to leave the Nou Camp this month.
Sneijder has had an offer of more than £200,000 a week from Turkish side Galatasaray, but he is stalling and his actress wife Yolanthe is said to be desperate to avoid moving to Turkey.
Galatasary president Unal Aysal said on Thursday: “We’ll wait another three or four daysfor Sneijder. If the deal collapses, we have alternatives.
"The player knows our proposals.”

If he's still hungry enough they must surely be able to work out a deal that offers him enough target-based incentives to appeal.

The way I see it is that if he drops his wage demands down to what we are offering, Manu will step in and sign him.

He wont get 240k a week will he... clubs able to pay that are few and far between, out of all the big clubs Spain is out, Real got rid, Barca already have better and are well clear already. Chelsea and Man City have beennspending like drunken sailors already and i suspect either dont need him or will be trying to limit expenditure due to FFP coming online soon, maybe an italian club will go in for him but i suspect not, it doesnt fit with Bayerns or Arsenals business model. Out of the big English clubs probably United need him the most butthey have already rejected the chance to buy him previously by all accounts. Gala is an option but maybe he doesnt want to play out there, Anzhi and PSG maybe, at that money his choice is limited.

90k sounds about right, maybe with a bonus if we get CL footy.
Apperantly Spurs and Utd are sniffing around aswell. Once we agree something expect one of them to swoop in, the cunts.

Wouldnt surprise me, although with Kagawa and Rooney playing behind RVP they dont really need him.
