Wes Sneijder - good idea?

I don't want any player coming into this club on 100k+. That's a wage that should be reserved for very few, after some years of service.
Well, in one foul swoop, that rules out 99.9% of the world's best players ever coming here then.

Fell swoop (thanks for catching that Vlad) !

I'd fuck Sneijder off. I think he's quite a divisive character in the dressing room and his salary is excessive

I want him in the squad and I don't care what they pay him. All this wanting to protect the wage bill bullshit is a bit Stockholm Syndromey innit.

I'd put a bid in to inter and his agent for sure... If he doesn't work out we can flog him to some other desperate bunch in 12 months. It would have to be at a massive pay cut though...Take it or leave it offer. If he really wants to get his career back on track he will take the pay cut.

Play well enough and you will earn a bigger contract. If he has faith in himself and his body then he would believe he can get it too. He will also be desperate to show what he can do in the run up to probably his last World Cup chance. Worth the risk.

“He’ll do (smiles)! He’s a top player. He delivers at every major tournament. He’s done it in the CL for years. But we’ll have to see…

…on his wage demands. He’ll have all kinds of options I’m sure. I’d love nothing better than to see him in a red shirt.”

Kamara: “He’s said his next move won’t be for money.” SG: “Well if that’s the case then we’d love to welcome him here.”

He's desperate to play international footy again & wants high profile. So we're about his best option.

We should play hard ball & offer him 30k a week take it or leave it.

This a gazillion times.
As I said in another thread or it might have been earlier in this. If we base not buying another established player again based on the Joe Fucking Cole circumstances we might as well board Anfield up and fuck off.
To get back to where we need to be is going to take patience and a few risks. Gerrards reaction to it on Sky was good enough for me.

He said he would like him at the club. Providing that the manager did, he would love to see him in a red shirt.

Implying he didnt know if Rodgers wants him or not.

That's not how I heard it. Mind you, I don't have sky so I can't re-watch it.
