Thank goodness we got Rodgers when we did.

FSG got stick at the time but they nailed this appointment, admittedly it took him a while to find his feet and settle in, but what a team he's created. Not necessarily the quality of players but more the team spirit and ethos.

Mourinho is obviously getting results at Chelsea but I'd be appalled if he was our manager. The pathetic attempts at mind games with his shite horse analogy, the constant 'we are not favourites', the disgraceful treatment of Wenger - particularly getting off down the tunnel before the final whistle. He is just despicable.

Pellegrini, I don't mind - I like his style of play and he carries himself well but he bottled that Barca tie in the home leg. Plus, I prefer Rodgers' intensity.

Martinez is doing a good job and wouldn't have been as bad an appointment as I feared. However, Rodgers has come out on top big time in the derbies, which sorts that debate.

Everyone else is meh.

Yes Mourinho is a twat but that shouldn't cloud the fact that he is comfortably the best manager in the league, no doubt Rodgers is riding high and is on his way to the top but you can't say hes a better manager than Mourihno who has been there and done it many times and keeps doing it, your comments about Mourinho are about him as a person and not as a manager, of course Brendan wins that arguement.

Also Pochettino should be in that list, him and Rodgers are very similar in the way they want their teams to play, Pochettino like Rodgers will get his chance at a big club sooner rather than later.

Yeah, for me it about more than results though. If that twat was the figurehead of our club, I'd be mortified. It would definitely sour any success.

We have a good manager - yes, but let's see how it goes next season before we start praising him and think he is the second coming. As for being ashamed if Jose was our manager - I can say not at all, I think he is a great manager and most of you know you would accept him as manager with open arms. I have real doubts about Rodger's ability in cup competitions - especially for next year if we do as expected make the CL. Also - with regards to his player purchases - I have doubts - I don't think I would trust him with big player purchases.

What Brendan has done is given the players the belief, and to believe again that we are a big club with a rich history - but hard work is needed by Everyone. I think also that Suarez's attitude is something that has sunk into the other players - perhaps many of them now believe that if they are as relentless as he is in each game then maybe they can also make a big difference.

What yesterday's game highlighted was that there is still a lot of work to do with this team - it is clear that lately they have been up for the big games but start games against weaker opposition in slightly careless way - they need to FOCUS a little more for the so called lesser games.

One thing I am pleased with is our owners - I think they have proven many of us wrong with their approach in the management of Liverpool FC, and especially with what they did with Suarez last summer.

Yeah, can understand that opinion.

That opinion has also (thankfully) cost the Mancs, strange really considering the even bigger cunt that had been in charge of their club for so long.

Potentially the best, but at the moment Jose is still the best manager in the league and rightly holds that title

What title?
If Rodgers gets Manager of the year then currently he's surely the best.
Can anyone actually conclusively prove who's the best anyway?

The title of the best manager in the league.

Pulis is in with a shout for getting manager of the year for keeping palace up but that doesn't mean he's the best manager in the league.

I would suggest the best manager would be be based on success and of all the managers currently in England Jose kinda shits all over everyone in terms of titles, European success and domestic cups in England, Spain, Italy and Portugal.

If Rodgers goes onto consistently win trophies domestically and in Europe then he can be talked about as being at Mourinhos level.

Right now that sort of talk is just embarrassing.
We haven't even guaranteed top 4 yet and even though it's looking highly likely Rodgers is by no means the best manager in the league

If you don't trust him with signings, then what do you do about next season? Appoint a DoF? Btw the big names he went for in summer and Jan most people approved of.

Dont trust him with signings, its almost as if people forget he signed Sturridge and Coutinho, not to mention Mignolet and Allen.

Rodgers? Bloke from Swansea? What has he ever won? He has never managed a team in the CL?

Not a big enough name for liverpool fc !!!!!

Yeah, and he attempted to sign Costa and Michtiblahblahman who both would have been pretty boss.

All well and good but awards don't actually prove who's the best manager.
It's a panel of whatevers opinions.

It's impossible to prove who's the "best" manager. Mourinho has been successful at clubs that have the largest budgets in the league they play in. It's not a fair comparison and there are no possible like-for-likes between any manager really. It's an impossible question to answer.

Most successful current manager ? - then yes Mourinho. Team is playing the best football ? Brendan Rodgers

Best manager ? Um dunno....
