We don't miss him

Then why are our results better without him ?

So you are willing to bet your roof that this will remain so, based on three games?

Do you have proof that Suarez in the team would have made the results worse in these three games?

Are you really this thick or just pretend to be thick?

We've all known this about Suarez. As usual, stats haven't been needed to enlighten people. The difference now is we know he's pretty much certain to be just passing through this season rather than an integral part of the future, so we shouldn't structure the team around him like we did last season. It's up to him to fit in.

That is how it should be....

At any moment I do feel that we could concede a goal. What Suarez guarantees much of the time - is taking the energy out of opposition defenders, which leads to more space and more goal chances. At the moment it feels like we are 'just' winning these games and I think the problems of our team will become more apparent when the quality of the opposition midfield will be higher that what we have faced so far this season. In short - yes we do need him to be back in the side.

MORON

I think it is a bit disingenuous to highlight Sturridge and Coutinho as our match winners and use the stats for for games they play without Suarez while you use all matches to create stats for Suarez including the ones where he was playing with Sterling and Suso as his attacking partners.
There were eight premiership matches with the three lads playing together and we scored seventeen goals while winning four drawing three and losing one.
In the seven league games since Suarez was banned we have scored thirteen goals, including the 6-0 drubbing of Newcastle, winning six and drawing one.

Stats don't tell the whole story, you know it, i know it, everyone knows it. So why point out a pointless stat? Like Red maradonna said stats got us downing and also got us carroll, charlie adam. Suarez has so much more to his game than the stats show. Suarez is world class and a match winner, aspas isn't. Its really that simple.

Pointless stat ?

In case you haven't noticed the team that wins the league is decided by a statistic- points.

We win more points without Suarez than with him. Should I bold this and capitalise it so it sticks with you ?

A sample size of 13 games is not meaningful.

That's a legitimate argument, but the sample size is now 16 games.

What would you say is meaningful? 20 games ? 38 games ?

We've also been better without Gerrard than with him for six years, but that doesn't seem to matter.

Some rumours from Spain that Real are trying to sign Suarez as Ozil is on his way to Arsenal

There's alot of other things to factor Ross. Coutinho and Sturridge added quality to us and gave us more of a threat without having to be entirely reliant on Suarez. There's also the fact that as the season wore on, we got better and more cohesive as a side, we're seeing a continuation of that now.

If he comes back into the side and results falter, then you might have a point, but as it is this is just another agenda driven, skewed usage of statistics to give weight to the idea of selling and to compound your theory that he's a little shit we can do without. Anyone who's anyone in football would tell you he's one of the best players in Europe, that's through watching the game and watching him play, not reading the overly-analytical stats to complicate and question something that's fucking obvious.

We're doing well without him, brilliant, we'd do even better with him. People used to try to use the same bollocks about Gerrard, if you then asked them who else in our side would pull out goals like the ones against West Ham in the final, they'd end up looking a bit stupid.

It is not just about sample size. For instance correlation does not imply causation. And there are many other factors to consider.

The best you can do with these numbers is say that they perhaps hint at something. They are certainly not proof of anything.

Well we might as well have Luis 'I lose the ball but score fucking loads of goals' Suarez in the team instead of Iago 'I lose the ball but couldn't score in a brothel' Aspas.

You can't ignore stats, but they can often be be manipulated or selected carefully to show bloody anything. So, although they play a role, you can't select a team based on stats. Let's sack our entire scouting system and just Google every player out there to find their stats and buy based on that. Not.
Suarez's ability is undeniable and he's clearly better than most of the players we have up front at present.
Having said that, will having him back in the team instantly make us a better unit? Depends where he plays for me. He'll no doubt want to be the main man up front, but with Sturridge doing such a great job for a good few games now, and given Suarez's recent behaviour, i'll be gutted if Suarez gets to play up front, and i'm sure Sturridge will would be too.
If he's going up front, nah. Behind Sturridge or to one side, it's a no brainer.

It's like Shanks said to Keegan: 'Just go and drop a few hand grenades all over the place'. That's what Suarez does.

Anyone who is doubting his worth to our team is dillusional! He comes back, he walks into the team

Anyone think that he possibly might go today, hence our spending on a few players, over £20mil. I think Madrid will make an offer, he will go and his replacement is Moses

What we miss most about him is our lack of goals. We're not scoring enough. While we have a 100% record so far, three 1-0 wins isn't ideal for anyone with a heart condition.

Would be great to see him back in the side; esp against United in the league cup..he's gonna walk all over Evra. .

We were better in the 80's than what we are now. I suggest we get rid of the current team and bring the old boys back.
