Uniteds board have backed Mourinho in the wake of Zidane rumours.
Hes dead man walking isnt he? If Spurs give them a pasting at the weekend I reckon hes done.
Unnamed source backs Mourinho, bet it was that cunt Duncan Castles
The pattern is there for us to see throughout his career. He's a short term minded manager.
He's signed 10 players for United at an average price of 48m. And he's still complaining. I always believe actions are stronger than words and the board not sanctioning more deals for over the hill players this summer says more about Mourinho's future than any statement will.
He won't get away with alienating players unless the results are great. Getting beaten by Brighton in your second match of the season is only going to heap the pressure on.
He's a lame duck manager. Everyone knows it.
I hope he hangs on til after the next transfer window, but can't see it
I dunno. I don't think his team want him there anymore.
Its kinda weird, I dont really get why he is getting so much stick.....
It was gonna cost a fortune to rebuild that squad after Fergie, and they have wasted loads when they had Moyes and Van Gaal in charge.
Surely if he was the man you brought in to take you to the top, and they finished 2nd on a high points tally last season then you would back him to make the final push?
I can kinda see Jose's point here, why didnt he get more backing, he has taken them back to CL and 2nd place.... surely now was the time to give him the players he needs, if he failed then fair enough get rid but seems odd to me.
I agree, in part, that they knew what they were getting with him.Its kinda weird, I dont really get why he is getting so much stick.....

That's a great overview! Also I think he has fallen into the trap of vanity and it has killed his spirit. And also there is more media attention than Ferguson had in his days so it's easier to fall into the trap of vanity. I've lost track of the amount of times I've seen Mourinho boasting about his trophy haul and at the same time I've lost track of the times I've seen Mourinho doing tv adverts and other promotional exploits...I'm my days managers were quiet in that front as much as I disliked Ferguson he rarely feel into the trap of vanity and maybe that is what kept him hungry and cunning.I don't know what's happened to Mourinho, is it just age?
He seems so unhappy, miserable and jaded compared to the manager who arrived at Chelsea and effortlessly owned the league and everything around it. OK, yeah, he's always been a massive cunt and a whining hypocrite, but back then he was also witty and had a glint in his eye.
And he seems to have forgotten the basics of man management and how to inspire a team. At Chelsea he brought in his "trusted lieutenants" like Carvalho, and ensured the influential players in the dressing room - Lampard, Cech, Terry, Drogba - were fully signed up to the Cult of Mourinho.
Compare that to what he's done with Pogba - instead of making him his unofficial Number Two, and key dressing room leader, he's alienated his most expensive signing and world cup winning Captain, and created his own Fifth Column in the team, with its most influential player at the head of it.
That, allied with his bitching about transfers, slating most of his current squad, and playing some turgid football makes this seem increasingly untenable unless something pretty remarkable happens - if your players don't like you, they won't play for you.
I agree, in part, that they knew what they were getting with him.
Thing is though, I don't think anyone expected or predicted the market sky rocketing over the last two summer windows.
As such, they've realised to catch or match city under Mourinho that they would have to spend way more than they wanted.
So they're looking at these signings set aside the potential earnings increase as champions & it fucks up their business plan.
Presumably whilst looking at us with TAA, Salah, Mane, Gomez etc complementing the big money buys & arguably getting as much value back, if not more, than his much more expensively assembled team.
At this point they say "Well can't you buy younger players or players just below that level & train then or improve them?"
Cue Mourinho throwing his toys out of the pram.
This is why I think in time us overpaying for the likes of VVD and Alisson was a masterstroke.... it raised the price bar for all teams....
Now it means Utd have to pay 75M for a CB etc.... and they may be the highest grossing team in the world, but they also have debt and owners that probably want to make money.... it will always be about balancing the books. It has levelled the playing field in some ways.
I think we have just spent the money more wisely in buying younger talents with sell on value, Coutinho was a windfall for us and that money has now taken us to the next level. He was a great player but sometimes 1 player does not make a team....
TBF, the stupidness they spent on Sanchez really mustve irked the United board, especially when he has done sod all really since joining....

What, so we overpaid on purpose?
Wasn't getting Sanchez more about cock blocking mancity from having him just like when Mourinho stopped us from getting Salah the first time lolThis is why I think in time us overpaying for the likes of VVD and Alisson was a masterstroke.... it raised the price bar for all teams....

Mourinho the translator lolMan, I don't think we can attribute his waning powers to a surge in vanity! He arrived in England over a decade ago proclaiming himself as 'The Special One'. Self adoration has been part of his character from day 1. Though as GKMacca has said, it is probably underwritten by the crushing insecurity of his alter-ego, Jose the Translator.
How is it these guys complain about hotels and the likes... they are making thousands a week, he could buy any million dollar home in Manchester area and be done with it and still be in rude financial helpI have long held this theory on Moaning arse that he was clearly a very decent manager in his early years, and probably until he reached RM. From the time he went back to Chelski, his mind set was all about protecting his managerial reputation at all costs. Gone were things as has been pointed out above like instilling a fighting spirit in the backbone of the team and getting the best out of players. Slowly but surely his teams have retreated back down the pitch rather than playing attacking football. It got him fucked off at Chelski, and it will ultimately be the same at Man U. He is petrified that he will be seen for what he is, a busted flush. He will not go down in history as one of the greats because he could never back up how he started, even when given all the money in the world to do so. Is he still living out of that hotel he was bitching about last season with his family moved back to London or has that been resolved? No doubt, he will cite that as one of the main reasons when they "mutually" agree he needs to leave.
