So we'd all be happy with Spurs' trophy return over the last few years? Finishing top 4 would be a massive celebration regardless of whether it's accompanied by a seasonal choke when the pressure hits.

We'd be happy we're 'great' again on that basis?

Obviously, I hate Spurs with a passion not least because of their largely insufferable fans and systematic cheating. But, there's no way I'm willing to consider their recent 'achievements' as 'great' on an objective level.

Nobody thinks they're great. They've won nothing.

There's a conversation to be had as to why a team with a lower wage cap and less investment into the side, and just as many managerial changes, always finishes above us

This year: above us
Last year: above us
Year before: above us

In fact they've finished above us every year apart from one in the last 8 seasons. And will again.

So there's certainly something worth looking at, if we wish to improve as a club and one day actually win the title.

And the obvious lessons are - which everyone knows anyway - a very good goalkeeper, a solid defence, physical and mobile midfield, an attacking midfielder who can score 10+ goals, and of course, the presence of a genuinely superb finisher who always scores about 20 goals a season.

None of which we have.

Hope this helps

..yeah and you even forgot about Delle Alli.

Relax Brendan, here's a photo of Marouane Fellaini at the hairdressers to cheer you up.

Not if it means we win nothing like they do.

In fact given the many strengths you have listed they are in fact shite and potless.

Karius in for Ming seems to be a strong rumour.

Yes, those jokes about Karius coming in for Mignolet, being a disaster, dropped by Xmas, then a series of fuck-ups from the reliably calamitous Mignolet meaning Karius is brought back again seem horribly, unfunnily prescient

I think our bad run has coincided with this run of the bad habit of stupidly titled pre-match threads. End it

It reminds me of the Roy Evans era. When one shit player got over their short spell of good form and returned to the norm of being a calamitous fuck up, they would be swapped for another shit player who's calamitous fuckups had started fading in the fans memory a bit, only for the whole sorry cycle to continue on a loop. See Ruddock, Kvarme, James etc.

I don't really give a fuck who we play, they're all guilty of being a bunch of inconsistent bottlers and the manager sits there looking shocked at it all, like it's not exactly the same fucking thing we've all witnessed for the last 2 months. They all need to take responsibility tomorrow and look and make decisions like they actually want to win the game, and like they're not already looking forward to next season when money might fix tactical deficiencies.

If they don't perform tomorrow they can seriously all fuck off, as a load of no-noper, more of the same underachievers. Klopp'n'all.

I hope I'm not sat there watching us looking clueless again all game, with Klopp waiting until the 70th minute to toss on a striker in the vein hope of salvaging something.

Break the cycle and take some responsibility.

Come on Jurgen, this management malarkey is easy.

You seem to be very angry of late mate.
If Lovren and Klavan arent fit, then Lucas could start and the mood wont be much better tomorrow night...

I'm not angry, I just think we've turned to shit and it's yet another case of us showing great promise and prompting questions about whether we can go all the way, only for the wheels to fall off again and for us to fade into obscurity again.

I don't think it's unreasonable to be sick to the back teeth of watching us fuck it all up.

If we want to win the title, why on earth should we look to Spurs? The team that came 3rd in 2 horse race.
That last won something league related nearly 60 years ago.

They always finish above us? Always? Football started in 2009?

Visiting the site without logging on resulted in a painful read. Fuck doing that again.

@Aidan O' Neill are you in Dublin? I'm probably going to that pub me, you, Ross and The Count went to watch the game if you fancy it. @Rosco @the count fancy a mini Drinkies? Although if you all turned up it would actually be a full blown drinkies
Aidan and Dave are in Liverpool for the match and I am in work.
I can't speak for Ross though I suspect he may prioritize watching rugby today

my head says Score draw my heart says we turn up - 3-1

Firmino, Coutinho in particular are due a decent performance.
