If you didn't happen to see the highlights, the US played Costa Rica in a near blizzard in Colorado on Friday night. I've never seen a match played in this deep of snow before, by the end of the match there had to be 3-4 inches of snow on the pitch.

US won 1-0.

It's the talk of the town over here. Game was called in Beal Feirste for same reason.

I don't know what to think. I didn't see players slipping and sliding. I also didn't see the ball much

Feels like a business/federation decision

"You have seen a combination play from Jose Altidore and Clint Dempsey. On the same page, combining..."

We won, sucks for them. Snow was deep for both teams. If they don't like it they should practice playing in the Andes, or Rockies, or anywhere in Canada.

There was an LA Galaxy match postponed a few months back for similar amounts of snow so it's strange they played this, also where the hell is the orange ball?

???????? Think you'll find it was yellow.

Great they played the game, bet it was a great fun playing in the snow. Reminds me of my youth playing in a cup game once

Looks white. But yellow's a weird choice anyhow.
What I mean is usually when there's snow they use orange footballs like this:

What's amazing is, judging by the highlights, both teams tried to play their game despite the snow. Still mostly tried to keep the ball on the ground, play one-twos etc. The players looked rather comfortable running at speed too, didn't see anyone slipping.

In Russia or Ukraine, whenever a game is played in the snow, teams just ping the long balls back and forth, making it unbearable to watch.

yes - they have football (gaa variety) & soccer. My lad plays both so its confusing for poor misplaced englishman like me
