United post-match

It's all been said really. Shite match all round. United were the better in the first half, certainly the more dominant, although I dont remember our keeper making a save of note.

We had the stronger first half and had the better chances. We produced the best two chances of the match and his stunning saves saved them for a deserved point against us.

Can started poorly but I thought he was pretty useful in the second half and one of our better players. The importance of Lallana and to a lesser extend Wijnaldum were made clear.

Sturridge wasn't given much chance of playing well. The attacks were too rushed and inpatient for him to manuever into a decent position. I'd still like to see more of him, though, and it's becoming obvious he isn't our first choice striker any more let alone a star player. Not on current form anyway and we improved when he was on the bench. Lallana's arrival seemed to spark the others into life and we were quickly seeing our fast flowing fluid football. It was our best period of the match. We were not able to sustain this after 80 minutes and the match fizzled out. You can't play 20 minutes of decent football against a top side and expect a win.

Klopp's right to be annoyed. Hopefully we can go to Old Trafford and demolish them.

I wonder if his stint at United is dead in the water? His turgid style won't last with their fans and I think his style in general has mixed results these days. His comments last night would have seen him crucified as our manager.
They hate him one moment and love him the next. Currently it's the later because they think he's a tactical genius who got them a point at Anfield when they were expecting to be spanked. If he wins anything with them, or gets them title chasing, then he's going nowhere regardless of style. Most United fans have already given up on style over substance after three seasons of mediocrity - they'll accept anything that gets them results, so like most fans again now.

Who wouldn't?

Apart from divs like West Ham and Newcastle maybe. And their expectations are so low that "playing nice" is about as far as it ever gets.

It's useful in training their brain to think several steps ahead and run through numerous alternative outcomes/reactions before deciding upon their action/photo. They have more awareness of more variables. When we were kids, we did one thing, with one consequence upon one or maybe two other people. Enjoyable but ultimately mundane stuff, especially for someone like me. Now these kids receive input from hundreds of different people, its a much more complex system that they need to master in order to survive. Hopefully they will become good mathematicians for it. Or good at quantum mechanics. Or be good at coming up with new and innovative ways of thinking, new technologies, anything that will allow you and I to live forever. Well that's the plan, or I'll kill them all.
I found that my motor skills and reaction times whilst driving improved substantially after a few weeks of playing computer games (not non-stop you understand). I really should stop driving others off the road and shooting at policemen though.

"Last season United won here. Liverpool had 14 shots on target and United had one,'' said the Portuguese.

"How many shots on target did Liverpool have on target today? Two [official statistics actually recorded three].

"Two shots on target with 65 percent of possession. You have to be critical of Liverpool. It is their problem, not our problem."

Lolz... I mean he's right that we were crap. But they were worse. Not a great argument from the humongous bellwhiff.

Especially considering he's got the most expensive squad in football history yet they all play like they're dying for a shit.

Also, he fails to really highlight the most important factor of last the game from last season. United won it. Is that not the most important bit?

"Yeah, we only drew and last time we won, but really Liverpool should have won that game, because they had more shots."

Did you all catch what Jose said about Rashford in the post-match express interview (not the press-conference)? Basically that he was thinking of going for the win by moving Rashford to the middle to play off Ibra, but just at that moment Rashford got a cramp and had to be subbed so "I thought, oh well, it's going to be a draw."

In addition to sounding suspiciously too defensive about... well, being too defensive, what does it say about Rooney who has replaced Rashford? So your supposed "first-choice," "world-class" striker comes on and the manager thinks, "now we have no chance to score, because Rashford is off" - what? How about moving Rooney to the middle to partner Ibra? Wouldn't that be a natural thing to do if your opinion of Rooney is what you say it is?

I think in his eagerness to defend himself against the accusations of "parking the bus," Mourinho has revealed a little bit too much about what he really thinks and also about just how scared he was of losing at Anfield. Forget Rooney, he also had Mata on the bench who has terrorized us in several games in the past - but apparently Mou couldn't take the "risk" of bringing him on even for the last 5 minutes and the best he could do was sub Rooney on with strict instructions to stay exclusively on the wing - which he did. And now he thinks the press should criticize Liverpool for besing too defensive! Really, what a prick.

Read an interesting rationale for the selfie generation, in that with the amount of social media fucking bullshit and lies, the selfie is proof that you haven't made it up, or nicked a photo from someone else; your face in it acts as a certificate of authentication

Doesn't explain that meff just actually taking a photo of Mourinho though. Perhaps he was going to add a Photoshopped cock into it later?

Being generous

You could nick a "selfie" from someone else though. Or am I missing something?

Excellent.... My disguise worked then.... because I was serving behind the bar.

Ha really?

I got a drink when I first came in but didn't leave my seat after that til the game was over.

Was sitting in the front bar facing out towards parliament with a group of 8 people sitting around a couple of high tables.

Fantastic that you are open that early for a game. Was good fun watching it there.

He already is. If he keeps it up - and young players don't always manage that, but I have a hunch this one will - he'll be very special indeed. more's the pity.

Will be interesting to see how he develops. Dont think its set in stone yet that he'll become a superstar.
Mourinho probably isnt the best manager to help him develop either.

But that's just it. Why bother? Who gives a fucking shit if anyone believes you. I've had a drink with both Jamie & Louise Redknapp, & have met loads of players in the nineties, but quite frankly I couldn't give a shit if anyone believed me or not. I certainly wouldn't go shouting about it on Facebook or Twitter.

The majority of this generation is self obsessed & utterly vacuous, & they don't even realise it's not normal behaviour.

Luke got new badges at cubs last week, first thing he did when his nan sewed them on was ask me to post a photo of him wearing the jumper to Facebook. As if that's all that he wanted them for.

He & his friends all play games round here at times, & to a child, they sit & commentate on their own games like youtubers do, whilst one of them films it.

It's learned behaviour, & it's fucking shit.

Yeah, I get that. But I think perhaps the perceived need for confirmation is increased?

Remember that lad at school? He stayed up til 3am last night to watch a horror double bill. His Dad knows Kenny Dalglish. He's been in a helicopter and has a special one-off Gold Panini Liverpool sticker that he says he'll bring into school and always "forgets" it? That cunt.

I think social media and tech has increased the number of people like him a hundredfold.

Much easier to lie and make shit up from your Instagram or Snapchat account. Nick photos. Pose next to other peoples' cars. And the opportunity to show-off and preen is increased due to the ease of doing so. You can live an entirely pretend life.

The selfie is the stamp of authenticity. This is where I was, this is what I look like.

WHY you need that validation is more your point, and I can't fucking answer that.

These post match comments that we are not the eight Wonder of the world, only in the press, coming from the buschaufeur... Is that the feeling in UK nowadays? Has Klopp already annoyed him more than Pep?

He said the last wonder of the world and to be fair we aren't the Great Pyramid Of Giza. Unlike his own team we have much more movement. It's very observant of him.

Didn't post this before the game cause I didn't want to jinx it but has a history of being wank against us.
Twice against Juve in the 04-05 CL, 0 goals.
Twice against Inter in the 07-08 CL, 0 goals.

Friendly against Ajax in 01, 0 goals. Although he played well think he got a great assist.
