Plus Justin was a bit all over the place.. few decent kicks that seemed to hurt but other than that rash and not measured like when he beat Ferguson and then looked like he was just happy to be alive after waking up from his sleep.. the rush of endorphins coupled with the adrenalin he already had musta been a nice feeling
The ending sequence when he went for a double leg take down, on the back of a leg kick from Justin to taking his back to mounting him and than the triangle from the top position was amazing. Notice how when the choke went in Justin wanted to get up in order to slam him down, Khabib held on to his left knee so he couldn't get up and by than it was over. No one comes close to combining his level of wrestling, jujitsu & ground control.

The doubt is gsp came back and became the champ champ. That puts him just on top, but that should have been settled over five rounds.
The further doubt is whether jon jones is struck out because he was juiced up to his eyeballs.
There is a good argument to be made for anyone out of GSP, Jones, Khabib, Silva & Amanda Nunes for GOAT.
Realistically its between GSP, Jones & Khabib. Khabib's domination of the lightweight division which is the most talented division in UFC edges it for me (I am biased).

It would have been a better fight if he hadn't gone overboard with the calf kicks so soon. Don't think it was down to inactivity as he looked in shape and sharp enough. More the game just leaving him behind, his stance is not suited to fighters using leg kicks more than they used to. He should call it a day.

That division is finished, he'll have to persuade Holloway to move up. He wasn't checking shit, digging your heels in just flexes the muscle and worsens the impact unless he has some way of defying the laws of physics. His stance is too wide and not light enough on his feet, so he can't react quick enough and twist his leg so that the impact is on the bone. That's why he used his hands to catch the kicks instead, which showed his mind was sharp and seeing things quick enough, had he put on the kurt angle ankle lock once he got hold of the leg, it would have been over, other fighters might use that technique, otherwise leg kicks are going to fuck the sport up before long. I don't think he was in poor condition, his gas tank has never been that big and getting taken down is the fastest way to empty it out.
The poor bastard was on crutches after five or six solid kicks. It's a fight, you can't fight when you're disabled. Leg kicks have ruined a lot of fights the last year, nobody is going to pay money to watch someone get kicked a few times, hobble around, then get knocked out. It's boring. Actually boring, way more than the takedowns and lying on top of each other method. At least that is interesting to watch the manipulation and the control of limbs.
I agree with Dantes here, in that the lower calf kick is a new thing in MMA and seems to kill a lot of fighters now. A couple of them and the whole fight changes. Feels like a cheat move that fighters have found nowadays.

Gathje kicked Khabib with a bundle of them and it clearly hurt Khabib who still managed to overcome and find a way.
And the mind may be quick but the body need to catch up. It's MMA and he could have taken Dustin down easily a couple of times after catching the leg.
