Marseille and Dynamo Moscow agree Valbuena deal
Marseille and Dynamo Moscow have agreed a €7m deal for the French international. However, the attacking midfielder would prefer a move to Spain to play in La Liga.

That's a steal that.

We've now reached the stage where people make up a rumour & clubs get criticised for a lack of ambition when it turns out to be false! Nuts.

I never ever bet, but is it possible that things like this are an attempt by somebody, not necessarily the tweeter in question, to manipulate the odds? Can't you profit from moving prices on the exchanges in some way, if you know in advance?

Sky Sports News and Skybet certainly do that.

Because he's being criticised by the twitterati for Liverpool not showing any ambition in the transfer market.
They have a point, we aren't, Markovic is the only signing that's shown an iota of ambition. Of course that's not Tony Barrett's fault, and unlike Skullboy I'm prepared to wait until the end of the window before condemning the club, however i'm not hopeful at the moment.

I would normally agree, but I played that tune in January when we didn't sign Salah/Kono and we ended up second, so I think this time I'm going to give the club/BR the benefit of the doubt and wait to see how we start the season before allowing concern to seep in.

Plus as I've said in another thread, when's the last time we signed an established top class player? I may be missing something phenomenally obvious, but I can't remember us ever doing that.

er..... maybe we would have finished first if we'd spent some money on quality.

Maybe we would have, but equally maybe it would have upset the balance of the team. The fact is that we didn't sign anyone and still finished ahead of teams that spent more than us and signed top class established players such as Juan Mata and Mezut Ozil.

we had suarez back then

Where are the first team starters that BR was on about getting. At the minute, we have bought future potential starts. No proven talent as it were apart from Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana. Not sure if the latter will be a starter.

Yes we did. We didn't have Lallana, Markovic, Emre Can, Lambert and anyone else we might potentially sign this summer.

Why not wait and see how we start playing next season before slitting your wrists? We sold Ian Rush and played better the next season. It can happen. We've lost top class players before and survived.

I think we might be shaping up for a really underwhelming window here.

I like the players we have brought in a lot, but losing Suarez means we need one or two WORLD CLASS players coming in to offset that.
I dont see that happening. I think we are still on the buy young and hope for the best road.

It has been an underwhelming window thus far. Who knows Lovren Bony/Reus and Lukaku may change all that. Losing Suarez is an almighty blow but our bench will be looking significantly stronger with much better options.
