Di Maria reveals just how ghastly it is to be linked with Spurs....

Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria says that "it hurts" to have been linked with a move to Tottenham last summer.

The Argentine was frequently rumoured to be nearing an exit from the Santiago Bernabeu in 2013 as los Blancos made room for Gareth Bale, though Mesut Ozil was the player to eventually make way as he joined Arsenal.

Speculation continues to follow Di Maria, who played a key role in Madrid's Champions League triumph, but he is adamant that he will stay if the club want him to do so.

"It hurts when you're always doing your best for your club and then you hear that you might be going to Tottenham," he told Marca.

"I spoke with the coach [Carlo Ancelotti] last summer. I wanted to stay and he wanted me to stay as well. He told me that he counted on me and it was up to me from then on.

"I have grown a lot under Ancelotti. He got the best out of me. Things have gone well and I made the right decision to stay.

"I am not going to lie, I know that there are clubs that want to sign me and can match Real Madrid's demands but that’s up to my representatives and the club. I will stay if the club wants me to stay.

"I am not thinking about my future now. We will see what Madrid have in mind, whether they want me to stay or leave.

"I am happy at Madrid. I had a great season and always had everybody’s support but sometimes you don’t have a choice, even when you want to stay yourself."

If it really is in excess of £70 mill, so would I.

I'm guessing it'd be cash plus Sanchez if he went to Barca with Sanchez overvalued. So about 35-40M plus Sanchez.

Someone posted something Ballague said the other day about Barca players supposedly not really being interested in coming to Liverpool so that might scupper things. Sanchez will have quite a few options available to him so it'd be quite nice if he picked us.

Guillem Balague: "Alexis Sanchez has got an offer from Juventus & an offer from Liverpool but he will have to decide which one he prefers.”

Heh, we've had that question about four or five times now.

The short answer is "not as much". Sanchez looks the better bet.

I meant Sanchez and Pedro, Ballague seems to think its a real possibility, I'd have assumed its one or the other, would we have room for both?

I'd question where that'd leave Sterling. I don't think we need both of them because at a high level all three kinda perform a similar role. I'd rather we went for someone who can offer something a bit different.

Would much rather have Sanchez than Pedro.

The value of the deal needs to be around Gareth Bale level though. I'll be miffed on us losing out on his real value - I'd rather dig our heels in and appeal.

Bloody hell, Lallana, Markovic, Sanchez and possibly Shaqiri?

I reckon Sanchez will be a wing forward and striker cover.

If they all join I reckon we need another striker as well.
And poor Raheem

Well we'll potentially have Sturridge, Lambert, Sanchez (I really think he can play as a bustling lightning quick striker) and this Origi kid (though might loan him back).

That's enough given we'll probably be one up front supported by two wing forwards?

Luke Shaw is 'Over £30M' according to Sky.

Portugal winger Nani has admitted he could leave Manchester United with other clubs interested in signing him this summer.
The 27-year-old is under contract with the Red Devils until June 2018, but Arsenal have reportedly joined Inter Milan, Juventus and Benfica in the hunt for his services.
"I'm a United player but there has been some interest on my behalf," Nani said to Portuguese sports newspaper A Bola. "I will evaluate it and decide what is the most advantageous for me."
Asked about the prospect of returning to Portugal, he said: "Right now I don't know."
