Pearce again on #Moreno. The paperwork for the Moreno deal hasn't been registered in time for Sunday's game. #LFC

Pearce expects the same central defence and Manquillo to be at RB (as was against Dortmund) to feature v Southampton #LFC

Pearce: We will probably see likes of Robinson, Coates, Ilori and Teixeira go on loan. #LFC

James Pearce includes #Borini and #Assaidi as permanent departures when questioned. Uncertainty on #Agger. #LFC

On #Agger, Pearce says "Liverpool don't make a habit these days of keeping high earners to warm the bench." #LFC

Am I the only one that feels like this happens every window? We get a shiny new signing that we get excited about but can't feature in the next game.

James Pearce - Samuel Eto'o would be an absolute last resort and I'd be surprised if that one happened. #LFC looking at other options.

James Pearce - I'm not aware of any interest in Icardi.

James Pearce - Rodgers won't just spend for the sake of it & could even wait until January if the right deal (for a striker) can't be done.

BR: We’re nearly done with transfers. There’s one or two more things to complete. We needed to develop the squad this year, add more depth.

BR: We’ll look to improve that top end of the field (attack), but if the right player doesn’t come along, we’ll play with what we’ve got.

We really need another warm body who can score goals, even if we need to overpay for him at this stage.

FABIO BORINI’S move from Liverpool is NOT being delayed by the Italian lacking the desire to join Sunderland, insists Gus Poyet.

It is four weeks since Sunderland’s £14million bid was accepted by Liverpool for Borini, yet there has still been no resolution to the Black Cats’ pursuit of their main summer target.
But when asked today whether the delay to the deal was being caused by Borini lacking the commitment to return to the Stadium of Light, Sunderland boss Poyet rubbished that suggestion.
Poyet said: “It’s not the case. I can assure every single supporter that is not the case.
“Please trust me.
“I cannot tell you everything because it’s not fair on anybody.
“But it’s not like Borini doesn’t want to come and we’re trying to convince him.
“I talked to Fabio and that is not the case.
“It’s about doing it at the right time.
“He’s come back to fitness and training with the team. So he wouldn’t be fit for tomorrow anyway.
“So calm, please!”
Poyet says he is reluctant to set a deadline for when he wants the deal to be completed too, despite Sunderland considering other targets.
“I’m just not trying to put a deadline on it,” he added.
“We need a player in that position and we are ready to move on and have an option.
“But of course, what happens if you move on and he’s still available?
“It’s a tricky situtation.
“But it’s impossible for me to say Monday, Wednesday or the 31st (for a deadline).”

The alternative :

"We're absolutely desperate to get another striker in, we'll pay virtually anything because we're fucked if we don't.
Saying we will be fine without any additions though is utter BS, and everybody knows it anyways.

It's clear we're delaying Borini so we can get a striker in. A bit of a sucker for Sunderland, but I'm glad we aren't sending ourselves up shit creek.

L'Equipe is reporting that Paris St Germain are still in the race to sign Angel di Maria, despite claims Manchester United are favourites to land the Real Madrid attacker. PSG have reportedly seen a loan offer with a view to a permanent deal rejected by Real, but could go back in with a fresh bid, if they can sell first. Ezequiel Lavezzi is one player who could be sold, with Juventus reportedly interested in the forward.

  • DAILY TELEGRAPH: Arsenal have been told that Olympiakos defender Kostas Manolas will cost at least £8million.

I don't see how we can expect Reus to sign if we haven't even given him his own transfer thread, the poor chap must feel as welcome as a fart in an Astronaut suit.

Reus isnt moving anywhere this summer.
Atletico have just confirmed that they arent interested.

The Times reports that Tottenham Hotspur were yesterday informed of the availability of Mattia Destro after Roma conceded that the striker could leave the club this summer. Wolfsburg have been linked with an £18million offer but Walter Sabatini, the director of the Italian club, is believed to have flown to England for talks with Spurs.
