Transfer Rumours 21/22

That’s an unnecessarily long waffly article, which can be summarized as:

Liverpool still pulling as one and will review things internally to improve.

To be honest none of that shit fills me with any confidence. Comes off like corporate puff piece where no one is reeeally accepting any blame.

Likes for taking the time to post the whole thing but i only managed a third. As i read i realised these are some of the figures and excuses we’re going to see in the summer when we get nowhere near signing top players. Very pessimistic view but I’m preparing myself for watching our rivals pickup the talent.

Probably speculative bullshit (aren't they all) but I though I'd post it anyway

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp WILL be given money to spend as he looks to reboot his outgoing champions - with RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate emerging as a key target.
At the age of 21, Konate is viewed as one of the best young centre-backs in the game and sources close to the player have suggested he would relish the chance to play under Klopp at Liverpool in a deal that could be worth around £34million.Klopp was denied the chance to make major signings in the January transfer windo

pite a major defensive injury crisis, yet we understand the club's owners appreciated the need to fund a squad rebuild ahead of the start of next season.

Liverpool have suffered a financial hit well in excess of £100million from the Covid-19 pandemic, but Anfield chiefs were preparing a shake-up of Klopp's squad before their hopes for this season were wrecked by a crippling injury crisis and they are sticking to that plan.

With fans set to return to Premier League grounds for the final two games of this season and the prospect of full stadiums for the start of next season, revenue flow is set to expand rapidly for all club and that will entice Liverpool into transfer activity.
Huge doubts remain over the Liverpool future of star man Mohamed Salah, but Klopp will be handed funds to invest in his squad even if all of his big name stars all remain at the club.
Anfield chiefs have vowed to do everything they can to keep Salah despite constant links with a move away, but they would be open to offers for Joel Matip, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi, with Klopp assuring Anfield chiefs that he is fully committed to the challenge of getting his side back on track next season after recent speculation over his own future.

Wasn't he the one that gifted us a goal the first time we played them?

Mukiele and Upamecano I think.
Konate scored an own goal against Utd.

One player to watch out for is Bade. 20 years old and in his first season for Lens.
Such an amazing talent. That kid has everything.
I’d be okay with signing him aswell.

Just caught Dortmund game’s last 10 mins, they had 16yr old who scored the 2nd. His youth scoring record looks insane, could be a special talent.

In-form Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic reveals he has a soft spot for Liverpool.

Sasa Kalajdzic has caught the eye with his performances for VfB Stuttgart this season, finding the net 13 times in 26 appearances.

Should he eventually emerge on Liverpool's radar, the 23-year-old forward would find it difficult to say no.

"I feel good all around at VfB, but it would be a really tough decision because I like Liverpool a lot. To me, it's just a special club," Kalajdzic told Bild.

According to reports, RB Leipzig, West Ham and AS Roma have already shown interest in the tall striker, who has scored in each of his last six Bundesliga games.

Some of those through balls are top draw

Former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho could be on his way out of Barcelona this summer. The 28-year old was a very popular figure at Anfield until he decided to force his way out of the club midway through the season.
According to Spanish newspaper SPORT, Barcelona are desperately trying to offload Philippe Coutinho. Despite paying a fee of £137 million for the Brazilian midfielder, the Catalonian club are said to be willing to let him go for a cut price of £43 million.
The report claims that Barcelona still owe 50 million in installments for Coutinho's transfer. With the club's finances in disarray, they are not looking to make a profit but instead they are prioritizing covering the amount owed. Selling Coutinho would also clear Barclona's books from his staggering 13 million yearly wages.
Philippe Coutinho is the third highest earner in the Spanish club, just behind Lionel Messi, and Antoine Griezmann. The 'little magician' earns close to 270,000 a week or £230,000. To put into perspective, that is £30 million more than Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah who are reportedly on £200,000 a week.
The Barcelona board lead by recently appointed club president Joan Laporta is said to be considering this matter urgent in their pursuit of balancing their books ahead of the summer transfer window.

Wouldn't be surprised if he lands at PSG. Poch had him on loan at Espanyol and tried to buy him at Southampton.

Yeah, but it would be quite a task for Poch to try to fit both him and Neymar in the team. Can’t imagine a top team splashing even 40M for him at this point; too many question marks.

Especially if he is expecting anywhere close to this Barcelona salary, 40 million plus salary might be too much. But at the same time, he and Neymar are close friends since Brazil youth teams. So would not be surprised if Neymar pushes for this move in the background.

If he's available for £40m then we should seriously consider it. The players we have in that space are Jones Shaq Keita and Ox.

Ox is not good enough or fit enough
Shaq is not good enough
Keita is arguably good enough but not fit enough
Jones is both good and fit but he's only 20 and he would benefit from learning from a senior player in the same role.

Barca have to cut down the current wage bill in order to re-sign Messi.

They'll cut their losses on Coutinho/Dembele in order to achieve that.

They got some handy youngsters coming through and I think they'll take route moving forward.

They want to resign Messi ? WTF, seriously they need to move on, but who gives a fuck about them. Let them rot in their debt

According to twitter and Athletic, the club has two attacking talents that they think will break through next season
1. James Balagizi’s and 2. Mateusz Musialowski.
I only know we signed Mat in August. The YouTube comp of Balagizi makes him look like real talent.

How the fuck does getting paid £30k a week equate to £30m more than VVD & Mo?

Not on you Rurik - but for a few of £40m and something close to parity with our top earners - I’d take him back - better option than Naby.

I would consider signing Dwight McNeil from Burnely if the price is right. His goal-scoring numbers are paltry-looking, but I think there is loads of potential there; whenever I see him he makes right decisions and carries a lot of Burnley's creative burden by himself. Even if he doesn't add scoring prowess to his game, I could see him being something like a Grosskreutz type player at least – a hard-working winger who adds a lot of intangibles.

I found the article about how they changed his game quite interesting. He'd spend hours going over the instructions and details after preparations for each game, and it would actually mess up his performance. So lately, he hasnt been given these assignments and its instead more improvised during the game.

Hypothetical...

Fabinho - Thiago and Countinho in midfield, would it work?
if you mean the poster @the count on SCM. I dont know what kind of hypothetical thought it is.

But Fabinho - Thiago and Coutinho is surely mouthwatering.

Dammmmn I say, Fabinho - Thiago and Cuntinho can be even better.

Not really - I don't think its solid enough; I think if you want to have Thiago+Fab, with one other - you also need a solid runner who is able to track back when needed to support in defensive duties. The part of me that was happy when Coutinho left was that we would have a more assured midfield - even though they were in the majority work-horse types, and even before VVD we ended up conceding less stupid goals.

I say the same, but my post is mocked because I say we should get rid of whole raft of players like Div, like Matip etc...
