Transfer Rumours 21/22

Camavinga to PSG looks likely. Some talk about Bissouma to us being a possibility.
I’d welcome that. Great player.

I have no doubts Bissouma would be great for us but with Hendo Fab and Thiago, who would people leave out? I think he's too good to be a bench player.

He'd rotate with hendo and thiago I'd imagine. No one is playing every game.

With the injuries we get there's no doubt the midfielders will get more than handful of games.

In the Twitter thread they say Messi generates more income for Barcelona than his salary costs them. So they can cut their wage bill by getting rid, but then their salaries will likely grow from 110% of income to 120% 🙂

Is this really true? Is it one of those "Beckham's first day shirt sales covered his transfer fee to Madrid" type fact which is repeated so often that it has a veneer of truth associated with it.

Barcelona's revenue growth seems to be growing consistently before Messi itself. Fairly confident that is consistent with the overall revenue growth associated with the game. His earnings from 2017-2020 were reported to be around 674 million euros (https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/ne...-leaked-by-spanish-paper-in-bombshell-report/). Obviously, we don't know the details of his contract but I am confident Barcelona don't 100% own his image rights.

Maybe I am wrong and maybe he does, but is there any article from a neutral perspective that shows that he brings in more money than he earns from Barcelona?

For the fee he will command, surely there are better alternatives?

[article]Liverpool great John Barnes wants to see a move made for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

Barnes believes his old club could prove a shrewd move for Rice as he fits the profile of a Jurgen Klopp midfielder.

He toldBonusCodeBets: "There have been suggestions that Declan Rice is a target for Liverpool and he would be a good fit for them.

"Liverpool like central midfield players who work hard.

"Declan Rice isn't going to come in and score lots of goals, he's not going to be creative, he's not a midfield player like David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne or Ilkay Gundogan, but Liverpool don't need that.

"The kind of players Liverpool need are players like Rice or Yves Bissouma, hard-working midfield players who get the ball forward, make tackles, win the ball and keep it quite simple.

"He's similar to Jordan Henderson in that way. So if he wants to come to Liverpool, he has the right profile for them."

At this stage I am excited by the prospect of any attacker who we would actually play. No point in keeping Divvy if we won't play him.

Hes pretty much the closest thing there is to a clone of Henderson so I can see why people would see him as an option for us. But I'm not sure Klopp intends replacing Hendo in the 3 years he has left.

Declan Rice is the subject of a bidding war between Chelsea and Man Utd, and West Ham have apparently quoted 80m as a starting ask.
There's no way we are even bothering to look.

Don't think he's nearly as good passing the ball as Hendo is ...
