Transfer Rumours 21/22

If grealish goes to city he's thick. And foden needs to think his career options

We know he's thick already, and not just by regular society standards, even among footballers he seems like an outlier in terms of stupidity.

They have spent massively over 2 seasons and finished 11th. Not that I really care, but if I was a fan, I would want the manager fired.

For some reason you keep flogging this dead horse. Living in the Midlands I know a fair few Villa fans, and to a man and woman they'd say you're nuts. Being halfway up the Prem at this stage, securely so, doesn't strike them as a poor return for what they've spent, nor should it.

If there's any chance to get him, we should make our move ...

Bellingham's a monster in the making (TBH he looks halfway there already) but if it's either/or I think I'd plump for Tielemans - already proven in the Prem and maybe a marginally less outrageous fee.

Are either of them what we require? I don't see it. Neither are DMs and neither are goalscorers (Bell'. : 1 last season, Tielemans : 3 (4 assists), 3 (8) and 6 (9) over the past 3 seasons in the PL). Tielemans isn't someone who dominates the ball either so considering what we've got already he's not going to start (Fabs, Hendo and Thiago nailed on) or even really challenge them.

If he's genuinely going to live up to the hype, it's worth paying the extra to get him (Bellingham).

He may well do but where does he fit into our team right now? He's 17, he'd be another Jones, in and out the team to protect him but not getting 20 starts a season so not an asset with regard to pushing for the PL & CL next season.

His BL stats for Dortmund last season : Squad: 31, Starting eleven: 19, Substituted in: 10, On the bench: 2, Suspended: 1, Injured: 2

I don't agree with the latter bit of that. Given injuries and the number of games we'll be looking at if we do as well as we hope, I reckon he'd get games enough to justify the signing and quite possibly more, since I think he does have the quality to challenge what admittedly is a tremendous-looking trio. Bellingham to me would be less likely to do so if only for his (unavoidable) lack of experience by comparison.

This. I don't understand how anybody feels that halfway up the league for Aston Villa isn't a decent performance... Who above them should they have finished ahead of? I mean you could argue they might have expected to be ahead of Leeds, and at a stretch, maybe West Ham, but beyond that, who are they entitled to feel better than?

Not sure if Grealish fits City but happy for them to buy him. Likes a lot of the ball and holds on to it often far too long. Just don’t see it being Pep signing or improving City either way to the midfielders they already have. Would be far more concerned if City got Fernandinho replacement like Fabinho, Kante or Rice. Rordri has been good this season though.

They've got the money to buy for all positions though.

Kane looks a strong possibility too.

£200m spent (over 2 seasons) , at one point villa were top 4. A better manager would have this team finishing top 6.

I don't think you can rate Bellingham just by statistics. He is 17 and looks to have all the tools to be the next Steven Gerrard. However, Dortmund will ask Sancho money for him.

I am also a bit unsure about Tielemans. Looks like a technically good player but I am wondering if he is being hyped up due to the FA cup final goal.

Would have loved Grealish here. He is technically so comfortable and elegant on the ball and has the ability to glide past players as if they are not there. Klopp can elevate him to a whole new level. The bald fraud will do the same. At least till the last game of the season where he will be started at central defense in the CL final.

Are ppl still sleeping on Grealish? I think Grealish even at 60m+ prices will still be value for money. He's like a more robust and hardworking version of Gazza. Not looking forward to seeing him slalom through PL defences and laying on balls for Haaland in a City shirt, as if City need any more creative players... Meanwhile, our attacking midfield creative hopes are resting on young 'Joe Cole Regen' Harvey Elliot.

Would be quite a coup if he is allowed to do his job without interference.

Correct me if I am wrong, @King Binny, isn't he the brains behind Moncao and Lille's league wins? Winning against the odds against PSG twice in 5 years is impressive. Not sure if he is the right fit for Madrid though.
