Jurgen Klopp: "I watched the City game for exactly 65 minutes for analysis reasons, believe it or not."

65 minutes, Olise comes off the pitch.

I watched the 1st half of Barca's game vs Osasuna and was very impressed with Xavi's work – they really play like the vintage version of Barca circa 2015 with Pedri and Gavi looking capable successors of Iniesta and Xavi himself and the whole team working as one well-functioning unit, calmly dominating possession and mixing up short passing with passes in behind that use the pace of their front 3. Even Ousmane Dembele looks like a team player. It's amazing what a difference the right coach can make in a short time.

Precisely - look how quickly Rafa properly fucked up Everton - that takes Palpatinesque skill.

He should have a crack at Man Utd next.

Sorry to segway but MATE! Have you clocked the new Kenobi teaser? (Of course you have) Fucking mustard man! A mate of mine did lens work on it at Shepperton a long time ago in a lockdown far far away. He's seen the first episode apparently. Reckons it's everything the pre-quels weren't (I'm presuming that is good) If your arsed I'll tell more... I don't know anything that will spoil it but feel free to PM if you like. 🙂

Anyway Soz.... As you were peeps 😉

I think the fact he's a club legend and demands immediate respect also helps.

Yeah, but that kind of respect would only last a couple of days unless you back your status with real understanding and a plan that the players can get behind. It's clear that Xavi has that and the way the whole team moves in sync all the time is just night and day from what we saw earlier in the season. If the season was a few games longer, I think they could even catch Real Madrid.

Well that and the fact he's probably better than most of the 1st team even with his boots tied together. Apart from any Reds (and De Bruyne actually) I don't think Ive ever seen a more sublime player in the flesh.

Tell me nothing!!!!!

Disney have decided to give me an early 59th birthday present by releasing this a few days before my birthday.

Between, the quadruple and everything else - end of May us looking sweet.

Anyone remember Gonçalo Guedes, the club likes Portuguese speakers? May not be the fastest winger but really strong. 10 goals and 5 assists in La Liga.

[Fabrizio Romano] AC Milan have already made a proposal to sign Divock Origi on a free transfer. He's not extending the contract with Liverpool, current deal expires in June and AC Milan are pushing to complete the agreement. Club confident - working on the deal as reported yesterday.

We seriously suck at selling our senior players.

I'm happy for him if he goes there - competition => Giroud and Zlatan, with no up n' coming young strikers as far as I know.
Can play if they go front 3, or front 2 or even lone striker.
Hope he really kicks on us he's a talented player.
Good luck to big Div. Leaving with 2 PLs, 2 UCLs, 1 Fa Cup, 1 League Cup and 1 World Club championship is PRETTY impressive.

Fede Valverde seems like a "newer" name to be linked - don't recall seeing him mentioned in our rumour mill previously

[article]Jurgen Klopp wants Liverpool to sign Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, according to El Nacional.

The report claims Valverde could consider his future after regularly being overlooked by Carlo Ancelotti. In contrast, Klopp is an admirer of the Uruguay international and could integrate him at Anfield.

Liverpool never signed a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum upon his release last summer. Although Harvey Elliott returned from a loan spell and has impressed, there remains a feeling that an extra midfielder would be useful for Klopp.

Therefore, El Nacional are predicting him to pounce for Valverde if his situation in Madrid does not improve.

It is suggested that Klopp has a “serious interest” in Valverde, who “fits perfectly” with his style. What’s more, he would be willing to give him the regular starting role he craves.

As such, the signs are pointing towards Valverde leaving Real in the summer. Liverpool would be willing to increase his salary to facilitate the transfer, which itself would not come cheap.

In fact, the report claims Madrid president Florentino Perez would be asking for a figure in the region of €80m. That equates to just over £67m.

The 23-year-old is under contract in the Spanish capital until 2027. He has been a member of the Madrid senior squad since 2018, amassing more than 100 appearances.

He has started 13 of Madrid’s 28 La Liga games so far this season, providing one assist. In general, Ancelotti has stuck with the tried-and-tested trio of Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

Further plans from Los Blancos in the summer could scupper Valverde’s hopes of becoming more prominent. A change of scenery, therefore, could lead him to Liverpool.
