Transfer Rumours 21/22

Happy for Coutinho. No ill feeling towards him - his transfer fee was a major part of us winning all the trophies we have recently.

He's had a tough time of it since leaving us, and we've all taken some pleasure from that; but I can definitely get behind a Coutinho playing for Gerrard. Hope to see some of those long range worldies from him soon, preferably against all our rivals.

Agreed. No ill feelings at all. I wonder what kind of shape he's in though. His fitness has been poor for a long time now, so will he be able to make an impact is the big question.

Happy for Coutinho, would be good to see him back in PL and see how he does.

No hard feelings for him and as already mentioned, his transfer funded our new era signings which led to us winning the lot and wouldn’t happened without his sale.

He did the right thing, wanted to win shit and did.
He spent 5-6 years with us and won jack shit.
Now he's a league winner in Spain and Germany. Also a CL winner.

Regardless of the fee we got him. Fuck coutinho.

Feigned injury to avoid playing for us, and tried to force his way out the club.

Fuck him
Hopefully when they next play us his performance is impeded by back problems resulting in a shite performance despite ripping up the league against our rivals.

I don't question the move at all. I question the tactics employed to do it.

This is why I don't get Liverpool fans being all "aww hope he does well". Fuck off. Tear a cruciate and end your career you bell. He couldn't give a shit about us.

Great player for us. I wish him well, and would welcome him back to the club. As said it was the tactics to get the move that I have a problem with....
Remember, It was a dream move for him to play for Barca. I would ask yourself...
"If you were at Real, Barca, Utd,City and you had the chance to move to Liverpool, Your dream move, would you not do all you can to achive that move"?...
I truely believe that if he had the chance to where a Liverpool sheet again, he would be one of the hardest workers in practice sessions and on the pitch for the team,
.
Aside from his dream move, Barca, I believe that he truley loved Liverpool, and Gerrard being Villa manage was the reason he chose Aston Villa for that Liverpool connection

Someone should tell him where the badge is ...

There is no reason to sell him in January unless we buy someone in this window, which probably won’t happen.

That's because not everyone sees about football as I did when I was 10.
It's just a job to them, he was born in Brazil and travelled all around Europe from a young age often as a commodity.
He has has family and friends, and they have different needs and wants.
I understand he left in a shit way and was embarrassing on his part especially after declaring his undying loyalty.
Do you really believe LFC is run by Bastian of purity and all the supporters behind every player every minute of their LFC career? It works both ways.
Soon as Salah gets his deal and starts playing shit, some of us will be on him saying money has gone to his head.
I honestly don't get so tribal about our own players anymore.
My first job as a grad was with a company for 10yrs then soon as I moved jobs because was being underpaid by market by 50%, I kept moving every 2yrs since hten because I realised I'm just a small cog in a massive machine who will replace me next week if they want.
Honestly, since Torres left, I see why footballers move and don't get the demand undying loyalty from footballers.
To most it's just a job, forgive and move on as they aren't the worst things in the world.

100% this. As soon as a sport becomes professional this is what happens. I remember when Carragher signed his new deal after Istanbul (same day as Gerrard who'd obviously wobbled about going to Chelsea). When some journal tried to portray him as "Mr Loyal" who'd just signed on the dotted line he wouldn't have it and made the point that he loved the club but wouldn't be doing it for nothing (or words to that effect). Basically he was happy to stay with the club but they had to pay him appropriately. That's as close as you'll get to loyalty in a professional game, bar the odd fair story here and there.

Who was that Portugal (I think) based attacking player we were reportedly close to signing about 2-3 seasons ago? Firm etc “reported” that we made multiple big-money bids and the transfer was “almost done” at one point. His name really dropped off the radar so much that for the life of me I can’t remember who it was.

Anyway, I think Luiz is an interesting player, but this feels similar at this point.
Alex Teixeira maybe? He went to China after and did fuck all

If all these players were that loyal they'd still be in Brazil playing for Clube Favela not moshing around in the English winter.

Well Phil doesn't look that excited.
I think he really wanted to come back to LFC and be reunited with his Brazilian buddies.

I imagine he probably would have preferred to have come back to Liverpool.

I doubt it is anyone's dream to join Aston Villa, is it?
