Karim Adeyemi: Barca and Liverpool contemplate winter offer - Scored on DFB debut

Just crowned the most valuable player in the Austrian Bundesliga at the latest Transfermarkt market value update, Red Bull Salzburg's Karim Adeyemi is on the way to becoming a superstar. The 19-year-old doubled his market value from €10 million to €20 million. The Munich-born forward also scored in his German national team debut against Armenia. Adeyemi's career is now being closely followed by several top clubs abroad.

Transfermarkt can confirm through multiple sources with direct knowledge of the situation that Liverpool and Barcelona are interested in signing the forward. Both clubs are now preparing an offer for the upcoming winter. Adeyemi renewed his contract until 2024 in January 2020. According to sources, Salzburg will ask in the region of €30 million for the 19-year-old striker. That fee is in the same region as what Salzburg earned for Patson Daka (to Leicester City) and Naby Keïta (to RB Leipzig now Liverpool).

Liverpool and Barca are not the only clubs interested. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are currently also scouting the player, who has scored seven goals and one assist in nine games for the Red Bulls. Adeyemi also scored 19 minutes into his Germany debut. "I am flashed that I can play with so many fantastic players," Adeyemi said after his debut. "It is incredible to be here."

"Karim showed what he has demonstrated in Salzburg all season," Bundestrainer Hansi Flick said about Adeyemi. "He still has a lot of work ahead of him." Adeyemi, who is a Borussia Dortmund fan, seems to be on a good path. Barcelona, in particular, have scouted the player heavily. One major question mark, however, is whether Barcelona can afford the player given the club's difficult financial situation. Liverpool are a different story. The Reds were conservative on the market this summer and remain on the lookout for an additional striker.

He looks quality. Unless there are contract issues, close to zero chance of anyone signing him for 30 million euros or less.
Salzburg typically don't bank massive fees on their sales.

They sold Haaland for 17 million, Szoboszlai for 17 million, Mwepu for 20 million, Minamino and Hwang for 8 million. In previous years, they've sold Caleta-Car, Haidara and Upamecano for about 17 million apiece. I think their most expensive sales have been Daka and Naby for about 25 million.

What is also interesting is that they sell 2-3 players almost every year. Clearly, player trading is integral to their revenues, and they prefer selling players quickly as opposed to holding on to them for longer and trying to raise their value.

Their model is interesting in that they have an endless supply line of young players, a lot of whom they send to their feeder club Liefering at a very young age. The better ones they bring into their own first team, and sell within a year or two of their development. I don't think they have an interest in developing players for a longer time (2-4 years) and trying to bank a larger transfer fees (like 40-60 million). They probably understand that a player from the Austrian league is simply not likely to command that kind of value, and that it makes more business sense for them to execute these 15-20 million type sales with regularity than holding on to a player and hoping his value increases.

Their model also relies on selling players quickly before buying clubs realise some of them are shite - like a certain Japanese player I could think of.

Let’s hope the Leipzig version aren’t up to the same wheez... there’s a certain Guinea international that both teams might have been up to it over and a French CB I hope they haven’t been spoofing about too.

I don't think Mini is shit. He needs time. A) His English is still weak, therefore probably has problems communicating B) He has no family here that I know of, which has to be hard C) He is coming from a far weaker league with a tiny frame, he will need to work on building his strength.

If only he’d had time to address those problems.

Hes nearly 2 years at the club, if he hasn't found the weights room yet then I'd say he's probably not going to

He showed at Southampton that he can do a job in the Prem, but I doubt he's ever going to be physically suited to our "heavy metal football".

Ward Prowse is absolute shit, other than being a set piece specialist I don't know what he does well, there's a reason no big team have ever tried to sign him...not to mention he looks like a little weasel as well.

8 goals and 7 assists for a poor Southampton side. If they go down this season, he might be available for £30m

Probably all pens and set plays, like I said he's a set piece specialist and nothing more.

Wouldn't take him for 3m.

Can't fucking find Adeyemi's response to his insta so I'm just gonna be another reply on Bellingham's heart emoji telling him to get the fuck to Anfield now.
