Transfer Rumours 21/22

I am struggling to wrap my head around the fact that the squad is weaker on attack and midfield front at the end of this transfer window compared to the end of the previous summer transfer window and FSG/Klopp/Edwards are ok with that.

FSG have clearly lost interest in this "project". Why pump investment into something you're going to sell. My only hope is that they're already talking to potential buyers, so we don't have to go through an impotent transfer window like this again.

Starting to feel like they are satisfied with making the top 4, esp. having won a title and CL already...

Transfers? Look over there!

Look! New contract for another one of our players! Look at this great business we're doing!!!

We’ve outgrown the FSG model, and clearly need a new strategy to sustain success going forward.
At the moment its Klopps brilliance that is keeping us up there.

In a way, you can understand why FSG are giving new deals to key players if they do in fact want to sell. I can't see it before the new stand is complete but perhaps they are doing it to retain value and even tout the sale value of these players to new owners.

Whilst I think the first XI can win the league, we are really cutting it fine if we believe Ox & Minamino are the answers to our problems when it comes to depth in the front three.

If we just got a proper midfielder for Gini, I would chill.

Bissouma, please.

I assume a back-up/replacement for Firmino is not possible.

How about we see how it plays out on the pitch before we declare doomsday?

I recall a certain summer when the newly crowned European Champions spent hardly a single penny, and the sky veritably fell on all our heads ... only for them to go on and win the league with a world club cup thrown in

It's all in the enunciation.

Post update
New Brighton signing Marc Cucurella says he's heard "amazing things"

Liverpool defender Nat Phillips has signed a new deal with the club which runs until 2025.
The 24-year-old made 17 Premier League appearances for the Reds last season, scoring one goal, as he helped them finish third in the top-flight.
Phillips had been linked with a move this summer but will now be staying with Jurgen Klopp’s team.

I wouldn't rule out a quick sale before the end of the year, based on nothing more than Biden's proposals to raise the capital gains tax rate in the US from 1 January 2022. I imagine a lot of the ownership group will have arrangements to mitigate stuff like this, but for anyone who owns their stake in a personal capacity it could take a big chunk (about 20%) out of their profit if they are US tax payers and haven't found some clever way of planning around it.
I'm not convinced this is likely, but it wouldn't surprise me. If they don't sell by the end of the year then I'd expect them to be around for a while yet.

Did last season not happen then? Do we not consider how it played out on the pitch?

Most people here are realistic and are not throwing their toys out of the pram because we did not sign Mbappe or Halland. We have clear gaps in the squad and posters have concerns about the ability to last the season. A replacement for Gini and an extra attacker to give Salah and a waning Mane, Firmino a rest.

Looks like Harvey Elliot is the answer to all of our deficiencies - Gini replacement, giving Mane a rest, maybe even right back back up.

Transfer rumours, and considering Nat Philips has been rumoured to being transferred out all window, him signing a new contract is quite relevant to that.

And it goes to show how much the journalists actually know - hasn't seen anyone suggested he's signing an extension.
