I find the comment about owing part of the money to Monaco interesting. It sounds like they've agreed a sell-on fee that is either a percentage of the total fee received, or a percentage above a certain minimum amount (which is lower than what PSG paid to sign him).
This surprises me.
Usually (but not always) a sell-on would be drafted as a percentage of any fee received in excess of the original amount paid. This wasn't always the way in the past but clubs are wise to it now as this has been a sticking point in some deals in the past (think it was an issue when we signed Lallana from Southampton, for example). Bit of a schoolboy error by PSG.
He might be saying this to try to get Monaco to compromise - it would be in Monaco's interests for this deal to go through, even if they have to waive part of their sell-on to make it happen, because they'll get nothing next summer.
I did see a situation once where a club agreed to "buy-out" the sell-on fee due to the club they bought a player from to protect against this kind of situation. In that case, the original selling club needed the cash so were willing to do the deal.
