Transfer Deadline Day

Barca kinda giving me the Bolton vibe - signing players passing their prime. Perhaps desperate not to miss out on CL qualification but feels like lots of panic signing and not really learnt from past lessons.

Lyon coming out of the transfer window looking stronger on paper.

Zakaria to Juve-"love free transfers"-tus (in this case capitalizing on his expiring contract for an earlier deal)

Juventus will receive €19m plus €6m add ons. Boca Juniors will receive 30% of this deal.

18-month loan at €10m + €25m obligation in the event of #UCL qualification and 50% of appearances with a further bonus that would exceed €40m.

I don’t know what game Fabio Paratici (Spurs DoF, formerly of Juventus) is playing, but it definitely has nothing to do with improving the playing squad of the club that is employing him. Juve’s transfers under him are just as strange as Spurs transfers now. I wonder who is the sucker in all of this, Conte or Daniel Levy?

Cynically I would say he's been brought in for his creative accounting skills as much as anything

Alli and Gil (loan) out, Bentancur and Kulusevski (18 month loan) looks like upgrade on paper but they also loaned out Ndombele and Lo Celso is linked with a loan move to Villarreal. Won't they be weaker esp. in squad depth?

Rodrigo Bentancur is not an awful player, but exactly what problem does he solve for Spurs? And Kulusevski is a bit of a misfit at Juve, similar to Alli whom they just sold for relatively cheap. They badly needed a ball-carrier and a winger/scorer like Diaz and got neither. And they've loaned out Gil, Ndombele and Lo Celso – I think as things stand they are now worse than they were before the transfer window.

I cannot shake the feeling that with Bentancur and Kulusevki deals, he is solving Juve's problems (since they need to get rid of players to make room for Vlahovic etc) rather than Spurs problems. I wonder who is the sucker in all of this – Conte or Levy? Again, there is no way someone would objectively analyze the Spurs squad and what they need to improve and come to the conclusion that what they need are the 2 guys Juve happen to want to get rid of on the deadline day – oh, and what a coincidence – Juve's former DoF wants to take them and pay real money while loaning out arguably more talented players to clear space for the new signings. I don't know if I'm overthinking things, but to me, it stinks.

I think Conte wanted those players imo ...

A decent thread on Bentancur. For what it's worth, I think Kulusevski fits Spurs even less.

Hmm, Alli AND Van de Beek? Not sure they need both.
What are you talking about mate? Dont you remember the last time they signed loads of no.10's? It was epic! Rooney, Siggurdsen and Klassen all in one window. Strap yourself in, this is going to be epic
