People's obsession with them cos they signed one brilliant player is laughable.

If we signed no one but Ozil people would be fuming.

They needed at least 4 first team players & a few squad players.

They got one first team player, at the cost of 42m & a whopping 200k a week.

Lauding that as some kind of achievement is ridiculous.

I hate the Sky bollocks, that scottish cunt needs a fucking good pasting. In fact they all do. Utter twats the lot of them, the epitomy of brainless sensationalist journalism.
"QUICK, TO HULL, WHERE STEVE BRUCE HAS SPLASHED OUT A WHOPPING FIVE MILLION. IT'S INCREDIBLE. IT'S LIKE THE NORMANDY BEACHES AND THE SUPERBOWL ALL ROLLED INTO ONE. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

We did pretty well. Still think our midfield lacks a bit.Was saddened and surprised to see Lukaku go to Everton. Eto'o at Chavski could see Torres get even more used to sitting down. Man Utd made me laugh. Please let Moyes make a pig's ear out of that job.

Agreed. Those twat fans are the most deluded and most easily manipulated fans in the country. They make Geordies look well balanced.

It''s not half as bad as the consistently shit 'slam shut' jokes on here.

Mesut f*cking Ozil

If you hate Sky's deadline day crap so much why do you keep watching it?

I didn't, I lashed on the Anfield wrap deadline day show.

It was fucking boss. Laughed my tits off, found out the transfer news as it happened & heard some decent insight in players & teams for once.

Rumours that the paperwork didn't get put in on time for the coentrao deal

Manchester United’s last-gasp attempt to bring in a new left back failed because they had left a complex two player three club operation too late in the transfer window.

Real Madrid wanted Fabio Coentrao off their wage list for a season having failed to sell him and his agent Jorge Mendes wanted to move him to Old Trafford.

United boss David Moyes hoped to sign the Portugal defender on a season-long loan deal after failing to land Everton left back Leighton Baines.

Missed out: Fabio Coentrao will not be joining up with Wayne Rooney at Manchester United

But for Madrid to sanction the move, they had to have time to bring in Granada left back Guilherme Siqueira in his place and he had already gone out on loan to Benfica.

Siquiera had been left out Granada’s team during the last two weeks of the season and was on stand-by to replace Coentrao.

But with it appearing that Coentrao would be going nowhere Benfica moved for the attacking full back and closed his loan deal.

Deal breaker: Real Madrid wanted Guilherme Siqueira (right) to replace Coentrao but he already joined Benfica

When United finally moved for Coentrao, Madrid tried to undo Siquiera's temporary switch to Portugal and there was hope for the English champions when it appeared both Coentrao’s move to England and Siqueira’s transfer to Madrid had been cleared by the league.

But Benfica resisted and there was a lack of will on Madrid’s part, delighted at the business they had done with selling Ozil to Arsenal for £42.5million, and having already told coach Carlo Ancelotti he was keeping Coentrao.

Ancelotti had told Madrid president Florentino Perez that he wanted the full back to stay and had even gone public on the player remaining at the club at the weekend.

There were too many parties wanting to block the deal for United to push it through despite the efforts of Mendes.

Red faces: United's move for Ander Herrera descended into farce

Coentrao will now be included in Real Madrid’s Champions League squad, leaving United without the man they hoped would compete with Patrice Evra at left-back.

Hahaha. They fucked this up big time.

Fergie always knew exactly when to move players on for the benefit of the club.

It seems that extends to moving himself on for his own benefit.

Another 3 way transfer involving Man Utd that was mentioned was with Wigan and Everton.

Loan deal was struck for Nick Powell before fee for McCarthy was agreed. With replacement secured, Fellaini was allowed to leave. Ed Woodward got knifed in the back though as they announced the deal signed for undisclosed fee, only for Everton to publish the transfer fee on their website.

That's a sensible move for Powell. Coyle's good at getting these young players in and taking them onto the next level, unfortunately. Would've liked Teixeira, McLaughlin, Wisdom and/or Yesil to go there. That's been the only disappointing aspect of this transfer window for me.

[article]Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has confirmed that he was the subject of a failed bid from Manchester United.

The Germany international revealed the Spanish club snubbed an offer from the Premier League champions and has been told by Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti that he has a place in the side this season.

"Real Madrid has rejected the offer, so it's over. There was no need to hold talks. I had a good chat with Ancelotti, that's why I knew that I will play for Real this season," Khedira said.[/article]

Fellaini = 5th choice? (Thiago, Fabregas, Herrera, Khedira)

Yes, and he was publicly trying to replace the liar at LB ... hopefully this all helps breed a nice dressing room atmosphere ...

I want to know what Joe Kinnear has been doing since he joined Newcastle.

'Poor' Pardew has to wipe Kinnear's a**

[article=http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20130903/statement-from-alan-pardew-summer-transfer-window_2281670_3446911]We are delighted to have brought Loic Remy to the club in this window and we believe he will form an exciting and effective partnership with Papiss Cisse.

Joe has worked hard on numerous targets, particularly an additional offensive player. However some of the options that were available within our financial means were not as good as the players we already had and there is no point bringing in new players unless they can improve us and take us forward.

We did the majority of our business in the January window, signing five excellent first team players.

With the strong squad we have we should all approach the season in a positive, optimistic frame of mind.

Did Napoli give us a loan fee for Pepe?

Don't think so, but they are apparently taking on 100% of his wages.
[article=http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/serie-reina-set-join-napoli-081215478.html]Napoli will pay the goalkeeper €4 million (£3.4m) in wages, and Reina will join the club on their pre-season training camp in Trentino, Northern Italy, for his medical.[/article]

[article=http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/234931.html]Manchester United failed in a bid to sign Wesley Sneijder in the final weeks of the transfer window, according to Galatasaray's sporting coordinator Bulunt Tulun.

"Sneijder received an indirect offer from Manchester United two weeks ago but it was not accepted," Tulun told Milliyet.

"There are several clubs that want him but just like we can't let go of [striker] Burak [Yilmaz] we also have to keep hold of Sneijder."

Midfielder Sneijder, 29, was a United target when he was at Inter Milan and Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge at Old Trafford.

The Holland international, who was the joint top scorer in the 2010 World Cup and helped Inter win the treble of the Champions League, the Coppa Italia and Serie A in the same year, was also linked with Chelsea earlier this summer.[/article]

[article]Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder has revealed he turned down a move to Liverpool.

Liverpool made a late bid to bring Sneijder to England before yesterday's transfer deadline, but the Dutchman chose to stay in Istanbul.

"If there are clubs interested, you should be happy about it.

"But with all due respect to Liverpool, which is obviously a big one, they have not been playing in recent years for trophies," said Sneijder.[/article]

Not sure if they're still let Buttner leave seeing they failed to sign a LB.

[article]Besiktas are claiming they have a deal in place for Manchester United fullback Alexander Buttner.

The Turkish transfer window doesn't shut until later this week.

Besiktas vice-president Nuri Cebi says a loan agreement is all but settled: "We are working towards completing the deal, we have agreed personal terms with Alexander Buttner.

"We have also reached an agreement with Manchester United, and we will complete the loan transfer within the next one to two days."[/article]
