Maybe the club see no future for him. We already have Gerrard, Meireles, Suarez and possibly Aqua man (I'm not counting on that one) that can play behind the striker.

The striker replaces the injured Raul Meireles and is the only change to Kenny Dalglish's team selection from Monday night's 5-2 win over Fulham.

Could be either, but 433 would be my choice. However it often appears to be pretty flexible, so it might be both.
