Don't trust him he's stupid.

Stupid is as stupid does.

I just think we will get someone unexpected in with the Torres money before the window slams shut.
I hope you're right. Preferably Llorente. But I don't think its gonna happen. Not enough time to negotiate.
If we do find someone I hope it's not someone like Carlton or Doyle.

Actually Suarez is a bit of a short arse, so we will deffo need a taller striker coming in today who can lead the line, should Torres go.

Llorente, Benzema, someone over 6 foot.
He's just under 6', not quite a short arse but not too imposing i suppose.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Come on let's get this done. Young and Adam in. New striker only in the summer by the looks of things.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Why is it taking so long to say yay or nay Torres/Chelsea? 50 mil of no deal.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I doubt the club will announce the sale of Torres before a deal for his replacement is in place, or we'll be quoted exhorbitant prices by the clubs of those strikers we're interested in.

Negotiation 101!

Having said that its surprising how often the fundamentals of pricing negotiations are ignored so it will be a good opportunity for our DoF to show he can run these type of negotiations for a club like Liverpool.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

erm, its hardly a secret what amount were getting for judas.

Don't know if it's been posted already

To answer a few questions: I understand Fernando Torres remains as determined as ever to leave #lfc after talks at Melwood today
So you're determined Fernando. Ok, my former hero, why don't you tell chelsea to bridge the difference in valuations by taking it out of your wages. Should be about £100k per week.

After all it's not about money for you, you're just desperate to win things. No pain no gain.

Alternatively sell the prick to real madrid and let the athletico fans feast on his still beating heart.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

What worries me is that with Babel and Torres out we must be the slowest team in any of the top 4 leagues in England.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

You dont need loads of pace if the ball does the work. Which is what has started to happen since Kenny came back in.

Negredo would be a decent option
Negredo is about as average as average gets. We will sell him in summer on our terms or we are total fools.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

That report can't be true, that Suarez is part of the expected £50m. Can it? It's not like it's nailed on that we'll receive that much.

It does leave us with it all to do today though, Adam and Young maybe, but we STILL need a striker.

I don't think it matters. We're clearly trying to spend in Jan and we'll be spending in the summer as well.

If nothing else, the days of worrying about what our transfer budget is or isn't made up of seem to be behind us.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

what time (liverpool local time) does the transfer window "slam shut" as they say?

It is nonsense when Suarez was bought to play alongside Torres.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Adam, Young and Carroll for Torres money (Soccernet speculation). Would be nice.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

11pm.

Unless it's Arsenal or Spurs.

They get until Thursday.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Adam Young and Carrol would be very good, Carrol could be awesome if he calms down off the field.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Is Carroll really that good?

I haven't seen much football aside from Liverpool this season, but the few times I have seen him he's looked a little clumsy on the ball.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I'm not expecting anything.

We may have to keep our powder dry until the summer.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

If chelsea are really only offering in the low 30's for Torres then I would expect to have an uhappy bunny still on our hands at least till the summer.
