Yes, although the latest one is apparently that he's signed a pre-contract with Real.

Ballbag claimed Real will go for Adebayor and not Llorente.

There have been rumours to that effect in Spain apparently.

shit! really?!

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I can't see us getting anyone in tomorrow. It took us long enough to get this far on the Suarez deal, and that's not officially announced until tomorrow. Torres has left us in the shit with this.

My mum said maybe you shouldn't have brought the new one as I think he doesnt like the new one and that's why he wants to leave. But even if he does go at least you've still got the new one.

My mum did actually genuinely say that

Is this possibly true?

Chelsea FC is FULL of unlikeable people.

If there's any truth in the Llorente links (most probably wishful thinking) we'd only have to trigger his clause (approx 26-29m) to talk to him.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Anelka is exactly the sort of player we don't need at this club. He's old, well on the way down, has no resale value, is certainly not worth a 10m valuation if it's 40 + Anelka.

And what's the point anyway? Anelka isn't the sort of forward we need even short term, given our midfield issues.

The problem I have with this is that they will price Anelka into the deal at the price they see fit (to drive down the amount of transfer money they have to pay), so they will probably value him at £10m.

If someone said last week that we'd bid £10m for Anelka, I reckon more than a few people would be miffed at us bidding so much for a player his age.

If they want Torres they'll price Anelka at the price *we* see fit, or they can go peddle peanuts.

I take the criticisms of Anelka above, but he'd be a sight better than not signing anyone.

£49m + Anelka then.

Spot on. He's exactly the kind of signing FSG will strive to avoid.
£50m straight up, in one big lump or they can fuck off.

Seriously though, he is going to play and score against us next weekend. I just know it.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres wants to leave the club because he feels that he can develop further as a player at a different club, according to journalist Guillem Balague.

Torres rejected interest from both Chelsea and Manchester City in the summer to stay with the club because of the loyalty he felt towards the club and its fans.

The Spanish World Cup winner shocked his employers this week by handing in a transfer request after Chelsea lodged an offer for the striker’s services.

Liverpool promptly rejected the request and stated they expected Torres to honour his contract.

“For Fernando Torres to take the step that he has taken to hand in a transfer request officially, knowing perfectly well the philosophy of the club and the love the fans have for him, it’s a huge step," Balague told Sky Sports.

"He’s done it because something was brewing in his mind, something made him realise that the pace of the club is not the pace that he needs in terms of developing.

“In his head the need to go is so huge that he is going to have to handle whatever the consequences of that is.â€

Torres had still been expected to stay after the Merseyside club rejected his transfer request, however it now seems that Liverpool are open to negotiation for their striker.

Balague added: “It is clear they are talking and there is at least the possibility of a negotiation and we have to wait until 11 o’clock tomorrow [the transfer deadline] to find out.€

I think he would be a very good short term option especially as we have next to no time getting a proper replacement(at sensible price anyway) if Torres goes. He hasn't been in the best form but I reckon he has a lot to offer still especially if played as central striker. Now he's playing as wide forward and it doesn't really suit him with his age catching on a bit and affecting the attributes required there.

I agree we shouldn't be paying much for him. Absolute maximum should be £5m but I'd prefer a loan with an option to buy for a small fee like £3-4m at the end of the season. Once we manage to get a proper striker in he could still be a very good squad player if he agrees to stay on sensible wages.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Its going to be fucking horrible.
The only positive I can think of is that massive fucking cunt Andy Burton is suspended from sky and will not be LIVE with his 50 mobile phones talking bollocks.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

"develop further as a player"

Here we go. The first of the usual, previously unmentioned, excuses trotted out to try to reduce the impact of such treachery. Like he can't wait another 6 months to make a 'development' move?

He won't agree to sensible wages though. He'll want top whack, he's on top whack now, why should he take less?
He also won't want to be a squadie either.
