Perhaps if he likes it in Liverpool as much as he did last time he might be willing to take a small cut in wages? Or we might get Chelsea to pay part of his wages. How much he earns now? It could be worth it to keep him even at relatively big wages for one season. Of course if he came on loan it wouldn't even matter and we could assess the situation again in the summer.
Anyways, if the deal is right he would be a good short term option imo.

Nobody would *choose* Anelka but we just dont want to be stuck with one striker, Anelka would buy us time, we'd have him for the next six months until we could go out and buy the striker we need long term.
He's maintained his time at Liverpool was the best of his career, i think we'd see motivation and desire from him if he came here.
The reality is we just don't have the time to go out and buy anyone else, I don't want Suarez to come in and be our only striker, it's too much pressure I cam just
